Abstract:
A light system comprising: (a) a plurality of light sources connected to a vehicle and creating light that radiates away from the vehicle so that the light substantially surrounds the vehicle; and (b) one or more sensors that detect light from another light source; and wherein one or more of the plurality of light sources are turned off in a direction of the another light source while some of the plurality of light sources remain on so that a tunnel having a reduction or absence of light is formed in the direction of the another light source between the plurality of light sources that remain on.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A wiper arm and method for manufacturing a wiper arm provides a body having a first end connectible to and supportable by a drive shaft for imparting oscillatory rotary movement and a second end connectible to and supporting a wiper blade. A torsional region of the body is capable of toggle action and is located between the first and second ends of the body. The toggle action is defined by two stable positions, a primary position and secondary position, lying spaced at opposite sides of an unstable range of movement, where one of the two stable positions exerts downward pressure on the wiper blade connectible to the body for engagement against a windscreen to be wiped. The torsional region is defined by first and second torsional members initially formed in a relaxed state. Each torsional member has a free end cantilevered outwardly from the first end of the body and spaced from one another. Each torsional member is subsequently flexed into a flexed state such that the free ends engage one another. The free ends are connected with respect to one another by any suitable attachment method of fastener when in the flexed state.
Abstract:
In a rain sensing device, a sensing device that can estimate the size of raindrops or the like without a large amount of hardware resources, and its sensing method, and a wiper controlling apparatus using the same can be provided. In a sensing device, light emitted from a light-emitting member is introduced to a transparent plate, reflected by a sensing surface of the transparent plate and then received by a photo-detector, thereby detecting a condition of the sensing surface. The sensing device includes a sampling part for sampling signals from the photo-detector, a compression part for compressing signals in a sequence of the sampled signals when they continue within a single segment, where a plurality of the segments defined by a plurality of predetermined values are set with respect to an input signal, a calculation part for calculating a compressibility from the number of the sampled signals to be compressed by the compression part and the number of the sampled signals that have been compressed thereby, and a judging part for judging the condition of the sensing surface based on the compressibility.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a windscreen wiper arrangement comprising at least one wiper bearing, which is fixed to the body of a vehicle by at least one support area (20). According to the invention, the bearing housing (10) of said wiper bearing has three support areas (20, 22, 24): a first support area (20), which encompasses a longitudinal axis (18) of the bearing housing (10) and is provided at one end, said end facing towards a wiper; and a second (22) and a third (24) support area which are axially offset from the other end in relation to the first support area and which are approximately diametrical to each other in relation to the longitudinal axis (18) of the bearing housing (10).

Abstract:
A connector assembly and wiper blade incorporating same having a base connector, having two longitudinal side walls, a first and second end, and a top surface extending therebetween, wherein the top surface has a pair of cantilevered beams, each provided with a locking tab, extending from a central portion towards each respective end of the base connector. The locking tabs are capable of engaging and securing an aperture in cap or wiper arm. The base connector further has a central recessed portion capable of receiving and securing a top wall of a side adapter. The base connector may further include a base support structure capable of securing the base connector to a wiper blade.
Abstract:
A connector for a windshield wiper, and a wiper blade assembly including same, that accommodates slotted receiving portions of windshield wiper arms. The connector for connecting a windshield wiper assembly to a wiper arm may have a peripheral wall having at least two opposing peripheral side walls and a top surface extending from one of the two opposing peripheral side walls to the other. The opposing peripheral side walls may each have a guide pin aligned with one another and sized to be capable of slidably engaging slots of windshield wiper arm.
