A track roller (30) for an undercarriage system (14) includes a roller shell (32) with a first inner surface (56) forming a larger diameter shaft bore (58) and a second inner surface (60) forming a smaller diameter shaft bore (62) coaxially arranged with the larger diameter shaft bore (58). A roller shaft (54) having a first shaft end (64) and a second shaft end (66) supports the roller shell (32) for rotation and has an oil reservoir (152) formed therein. A first sleeve bearing (70) and a second sleeve bearing (72) are positioned upon the roller shaft (54), and an axially extending oil passage (78) is formed by the second inner surface (60) of the roller shell (32) forming the smaller diameter shaft bore (62) and an outer bearing surface (76) of the second sleeve bearing (72). The oil reservoir (152) in the roller shaft (54) is confined in its extent to the second shaft end (66) of the roller shaft (54).

The track roller (10) includes self- lubricated bushings (30a, 30b), which include a substrate that has lubricating properties, such as a substrate that carries a solid lubricant, which allows the track roller (10) to require no liquid lubrication requiring regular maintenance. The bushings (30a, 30b) are sealed to prevent debris from entering a clearance (65 a, 65b) between the bushing (30a, 30b) and the shaft (40) as well as preventing any of the bushing's solid lubricant from escaping.

The invention relates to a drive unit for a tracked vehicle (10) such as a tracked forwarder. The drive unit comprises a track support beam (22), at least one drive wheel (24, 26), a set of support wheels (23) and en endless track (25), said at least one drive wheel being arranged to drive said endless track running over said at least one drive wheel and said set of support wheels. The drive wheel and the support wheels are rotatably attached in said track support beam. The drive unit further comprises an electric motor (3) attached to said at least one drive wheel (24, 26) and integrated in said track support beam (22), and a in the track support beam (22) integrated lubrication system comprising a pump unit (13) arranged for pressurized supply of lubricant to parts of the drive unit in need of lubrication.

The present invention also relates to a roller chain link assembly (110) having the aforementioned linkage unit (101) and a caterpillar track (301) suitable for use in track-type machines employing the roller chain link assembly (110).

A track roller frame (18) is provided for an endless track (16). The track roller frame (18) includes a shaft (52) including a body portion (58) and a flange (60). A first bearing assembly (54) rotatably supports a first rim portion (40) on the shaft (52) and a second bearing assembly (54) rotatably supports a second rim portion (42) on the shaft. Each of the first bearing assembly and the second bearing assembly (54) includes a first leg (70) that extends in the axial direction and is disposed along the body portion (58) of the shaft (52) and a second leg (72) that extends in the radial direction and is disposed along the flange (60). A respective inner surface (62, 66) of each of the first rim portion (40) and the second rim portion (42) that faces the bearing assembly (54) includes a plurality of lubricant pockets (78) for receiving lubricant. Each of the lubricant pockets (78) is configured and arranged such that lubricant contained therein is in fluid communication with the bearing assembly (54).
