Interpolation of signed values A and B is efficiently performed by simple circuitry. To calculate an interpolated value C based on a 4-bit values A (bits a3a2a1a0) and B (bits b3b2b1b0) expressing a negative number by twos complement notation and a 4-bit interpolation rate D (bits d3d2d1d0) consisting of only a decimal part, a basic expression of C=(1−D)*A+D*B is transformed into an expression composed of an unsigned part that includes a sum of products with a bit di or a logically inverted value ei of the bit di (i=0, 1, 2, and 3), and indicates an absolute value of the interpolated value C, and a signed part indicating a sign of the interpolated value C. Then, 7 bits of bits c6 through c0 are generated from an arithmetic operation of the unsigned part, and logic judgement of the signed part is performed by considering a carry from the digit of the bit c6 of the arithmetic operation of the unsigned part to generate a bit c7. Significant digits of the obtained 8-bit value (bits c7 through c0) are outputted as an interpolated value.

A method of utilizing a Web Service folder interface. A user defines a folder in a local folder directory as a Web Services enabled folder. The folder includes file data and metadata corresponding to the file data. The metadata includes a configurable Web Services type property that corresponds to a remote Web Service. The metadata also includes a configurable data handling property that includes one or more allowable file formats. When a user submits the file data to the remote Web Service by selecting an option in a pull down menu of a graphical user interface (GUI) or dropping the file data in a local output folder, the operating system (OS) sends the file data to the remote Web Service. Systems and methods for providing additional security for data being transmitted across a wireless connection that has been established using a known wireless protocol (e.g. Bluetooth) are described. An encryption key is exchanged between a computing device (e.g. a mobile device) and a wireless peripheral output device (e.g. a printer, a headset). In some embodiments, the encryption key is generated at the peripheral output device. Data associated with the encryption key is output at the peripheral output device, which can be input by the user at the computing device. The encryption key is then recovered at the computing device from the input, thereby completing the key exchange. The encryption key can then be used to encrypt and decrypt data transmitted over the established wireless connection, providing additional security.

A zero voltage switching (ZVS) technique for use in isolated and non-isolated switching power converters and regulators, e.g. based upon buck, boost, buck-boost, and double-clamped topologies is disclosed. During a reverse energy phase of the converter operating cycle, energy is transferred in reverse from the load or the clamp capacitor to the inductor, allowing the current in the inductor to increase in magnitude with a reverse polarity, building up reverse energy. A method for forming a high molecular weight thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer is provided. The method includes melt polymerizing two or more monomers in the presence of a unique aromatic amide oligomer to form a prepolymer, and then solid-state polymerizing the prepolymer to achieve a target molecular weight. The present inventors have discovered that a unique aromatic amide oligomer can be employed to help increase the “low shear” complex viscosity of the resulting solid-state polymerized composition. This allows for the attainment of higher than conventional “low shear” complex viscosity values and/or a substantial reduction in the solid-state polymerization time needed to achieve a target complex viscosity. In addition, the oligomeric flow aid can also accelerate the extent to which the “high shear” melt viscosity is increased during solid-state polymerization, which may also contribute to a substantial reduction in the solid-state polymerization time needed to achieve a certain molecular weight.

First and second vapor deposition particles (91a, 91b) discharged from first and second vapor deposition source openings (61a, 61b) pass through first and second limiting openings (82a, 82b) of a limiting plate unit (80), pass through mask opening (71) of a vapor deposition mask (70) and adhere to a substrate (10) so as to form a coating film. If regions on the substrate to which the first vapor deposition particles and the second vapor deposition particles adhere if the vapor deposition mask is assumed not to exist are respectively denoted by a first region (92a) and a second region (92b), the limiting plate unit limits the directionalities of the first vapor deposition particles and the second vapor deposition particles in a first direction (10a) that travel to the substrate such that the second region is contained within the first region. Accordingly, it is possible to form a light emitting layer with a doping method by using vapor deposition by color.
