摘要: A machine cover comprising a main body (1) having two or more apertures (6) closed by interchangeable closures (8, 9), at least one of which incorporates an inlet duct (12) so that this inlet duct can be located in one of two or more different positions in the cover. A pair of interchangeable closures for an adjacent pair of apertures may be formed in a single component (8) that is reversible end-to-end and which cooperates with both apertures (6) so that the filler duct (11) is aligned with either one whilst the other aperture is closed. One or more closures are provided to close each of the other apertures, one closure (9) being provided for each pair of adjacent apertures if desired. Alternatively, the closure (8) incorporating the filler duct (11) may be engageable with each aperture (16) in each of two or more different orientations in each of which the filler duct is located in a different position.

摘要: Apparatus for recovering grain from a mixture of grain and straw in a combine harvester comprising a conveyor (2) capable of conveying a mixture of grain and straw in a generally horizontal direction to a discharge end; a chute (4) arranged so that said mixture discharged from the conveyor falls onto the chute (4), the chute (4) having a floor that is imperforate to the passage of grain through it and is downwardly inclined and projects beyond said discharge end in the feeding direction of the conveyor (2); a trough (5) covered by a grille provided at or adjacent to the lower end of the chute (4) and adapted so that when the mixture of grain and straw passes down the chute (4), grain is collected by the trough (5) and straw passes over it; and a rotor (7) provided above and adjacent to the rear end of the chute (4) and driven so as to assist the discharge of material from the apparatus, characterised in that the rotor (7) is so that it is adjustable towards and away from the chute (4) to vary the space therebetween for different types of crop and crop conditions. The rotor (7) may be carried between the lower ends of a pair of downwardly extending arms (10) pivotally supported (14) at their upper ends. An adjustment arm (22) may be mounted alongside one arm (10) to pivot with it and to carry drive means comprising an upper input pulley (30) coaxial with the pivot (14) and a lower pulley (33) coaxial with the rotor (7) and releasably connectable to the rotor.

摘要: A wheeled industrial/agricultural tractor adapted for use as, for example, an aircraft tug. The tractor has an equipment support frame (3, 28) in the form of a heavy base plate (3) carried beneath an operator's station portion of a conventional tractor chassis (50, 10, 51, 52, 53) and a pair of transversely spaced struts (28) secured (25) to the front portion of the base plate (3) and arranged to extend forwardly thereof. The front ends of the struts have attachment means (19, 28a) for the support of equipment, such as a towing hitch (20), at the front of the tractor. First (1, 2, 70) and second (27, 29: 28c, 28d) attachment means are provided for respectively securing the base plate and struts to the chassis. The tractor also has an engine installation (10, 12, 13, 14) which allows downwardly sloping body panelling (16) at the front to improve vision of the front mounted equipment (20).

摘要: In a crop threshing mechanism comprising a threshing cylinder (3) located adjacent a concave threshing grate (6) and driven to thres crop fed tangentially between the first rotor and grating, a crop conveyor (27), in the form of a roller or continuous band conveyor, is located along the leading edge of the grate (6), with respect to the crop feed direction so that crop passes over it to the first rotor (3) and grating (6), and a changeable speed drive mechanism drives the conveyor (27) and allows its speed to be changed, thereby to control the speed of crop flow. A crop elevator (5) is supported to pivot about the axis of the first rotor (3) to raise and lower a crop collecting table (4) carried at the bottom of the elevator, the conveyor (27) being located between the upper end of the elevator floor (25) and the leading edge of the grate (6) so as to form a substantially continuous crop flow path with said floor and grate. The grate (6) and conveyor (27) are mounted so as to pivot with the elevator (5) about the axis of the first rotor (3). A crop guide flap (34) is provided adjacent the conveyor (27) to vary the angle at which the crop is fed to the first rotor (3).

The support means (23) may comprise a variable length strut and the leading section (11) may carry a skid (22) through which it engages the ground. Alternatively, the support means may comprise secondary actuation means (23) that operates together with the main actuation means (3). An automatic table height control system may be included.

摘要: A shift fork construction for use with a change gear transmission of the type having a shift rail (44) and a shiftable hub (28) provided with a disc-like peripheral portion (40). The shift fork includes an element (50) of generally semi-circular form having diametrically opposed ends portions (52, 54) on which a pair of shift fork pads (60) are pivotally mounted by pins (64). Each of the shift fork pads (60) includes a groove (66) extending the length of the pad which receives the disc-like peripheral portion (40) and each groove is wider at one end that the other to promote lubricant flow into the groove. Pivot-limiting pins (82) engaged in arcuate slots (84) in the pads prevent undue pivotting of the pads relative to the semicircular element (50). Each of the pads (60) is preferably made of bronze whilst the element (50) is made of a higher strength material such as steel.

摘要: A draft sensing apparatus for an agricultural tractor or the like. The tractor is provided with a transversely extending bending shaft (18). The forward ends of a pair of lower draft links are secured to the outer ends of the shaft (18). The shaft (18) will bend in proportion to the draft in the links. The draft is sensed through a Hall effect device (52) carried by a yoke (54). The forward end of the yoke (54) is pivotally mounted on a fixed transversely extending shaft (48) and the rear portion of the yoke slideably receives the bending shaft (18). A link (60) pivoted to the yoke (54) has one end portion contacted by the shaft (18) and the other end is in contact with one end of a spring biased pin (70). The other end of the pin carries a permanent magnet (78) in axially alignment with the sensor (52). As the shaft deflects as the draft varies the magnet (78) will be shifted towards and away from the sensor (52) causing a voltage variation in line (98). By mounting the sensor (52) in the manner indicated the effect of vertical deflection of the bending shaft (18) will be reduced to in significant levels as compared to horizontal deflection.
