The invention relates to a method for producing a sandwich structure on the basis of at least one layer on the basis of metallic material and on the basis of at least one layer of organic polymer, wherein for coating of at least one metallic surface with at least one metallic layer to be combined with the layer on the basis of organic polymer, an aqueous conversion composition on the basis of zinc, additional cations, poly(acrylic acid), and optionally silane, is brought into contact, wherein the liquid film thereby produced is dried on and wherein the metallic layer coated in such manner is brought into contact with at least one layer on the basis of organic polymer and is combined into a sandwich structure by means of compaction under pressure and/or temperature. The invention also relates to such sandwich structures.

The following two means are provided for a finishing agent for a chemical conversion coating wherein the finishing agent is capable of forming a finishing coating having an excellent corrosion resistance and excellent appearance as well as being suppressed in the elution of trivalent chromium: (A) the ratio of the chromium equivalent molar concentration of a water-soluble trivalent chromium-containing substance contained in the finishing agent relative to the phosphorus equivalent molar concentration of a water-soluble phosphoric acid-based compound contained in the finishing agent is 0.5 or more; and (B) a water-soluble aluminum-containing substance and/or a water-soluble zirconium-containing substance are contained in the finishing agent such that the ratio of the total of the chromium equivalent molar concentration of the water-soluble trivalent chromium-containing substance, the aluminum equivalent molar concentration of the water-soluble aluminum-containing substance, and the zirconium equivalent molar concentration of the water-soluble zirconium-containing substance relative to the phosphorus equivalent molar concentration of the water-soluble phosphoric acid-based compound is 0.5 or more.

A chemical conversion solution contains greater than 18 to 200 g/L or less of aluminum phosphate monobasic and has a pH of 1.5 to 2.4. A method for producing a tinned steel sheet includes forming an Sn-containing plating layer on at least one surface of a steel sheet such that the mass per unit area of Sn is 0.05 to 20 g/m 2 , immersing the steel sheet in the chemical conversion solution or cathodically electrolyzing the steel sheet at a current density of 10 A/dm 2 or less in the chemical conversion solution; and drying the steel sheet to form a chemical conversion coating. Since the method uses the chemical conversion solution, the following sheet can be produced: a tinned steel sheet that is capable of preventing the deterioration of appearance and the reduction of paint adhesion due to the surface oxidation of a tin plating layer without using Cr, which causes environmental problems, and that can be subjected to chemical conversion at low cost.
