摘要: The device includes a spool (24) and a mounting structure (20,28,96,98) for mounting the spool on a machine which uses paper tape. The mounting structure rotatably mounts the spool in a manner that the spool can rest on the paper tape roll of the machine and includes elements (40,97) which rest against the back of the machine. The mounting structure is adjustable so that the axis of rotation of the spool is disposed between the axis of rotation of the paper tape roll and the surface of the machine such thatthe spool and the mounting structure are wedged between the surface of the machine and the roll.

摘要: A device for feeding and positioning a recording medium as in a radiographic apparatus includes a grip member for gripping, feeding, and positioning the recording medium therein, the grip member being composed of a first plate, a second plate disposed in confronting relation to the first plate and openable at least in an upper end portion thereof with respect to the first plate, and a cover member disposed for closing and opening a gap between lower ends of the first and second plates. The device also includes positioning means for holding the grip member with at least its upper end portion opened in a recording medium receiving position, for displacing the grip member after it has received the recording medium and closing the upper end portion thereof thereby to position the grip member so as to position the recording medium in an exposure position in the grip member, and for displacing the grip member after the recording medium has been exposed thereby to open the cover member for discharging the exposed recording medium out of the grip member.

摘要: In a radiation image recording and read-out system, a radiation image is recorded on a stimulable phosphor sheet by use of an irradiation field stop for defining an irradiation field. The stimulable phosphor sheet is then exposed to stimulating rays which cause it to emit light in proportion to the radiation energy stored. The emitted light is photoelectrically detected. The radiation image read-out region of the stimulable phosphor sheet is limited within the irradiation field. When preliminary read-out is conducted prior to final read-out by use of stimulating rays having stimulation energy lower than the stimulation energy of stimulating rays used in the final read-out, the radiation image read-out region in the preliminary read-out is limited within the irradiation field.

摘要: In the manufacture of welded pipes, edge buckling or waving of the strip (1) is prevented by heating. In one method, during the process for bending the strip (1) into a tubular form (10), the edges (7) of the strip (1) are heated so that tensile stress exerted thereon is reduced to a minimum and, thereafter, before the edges (7) are abutted against each other, the strip is wholly heated so that the compressive stress exerted on the edges is reduced to a minimum. According to another mode, during the process for bending the strip (1) gradually into a tubular form (10) or during the process in which the edges (7) of the strip are held in abutment against each other, the strip except its portions of the edges (7) is substantially or partially heated so that the strip except its portions of the edges is subjected to compressive stress while the portions of the edges are subjected to tensile stress, and under these conditions the edges are welded together.

摘要: A V-type engine comprises a cylinder block forming first and second cylinder banks arranged in V-shape. Each cylinder bank is provided with a row of cylinders extending in the axial direction of the crankshaft between the front and rear ends of the engine. The cylinder row in the second cylinder bank starts from a location spaced apart from the front end of the engine and the cylinder row in the first cylinder bank starts from a location near the front end of the engine so that the cylinder row in the second cylinder bank is axially rearwardly displaced from that in the first cylinder bank. A water pump is mounted on the front end of the cylinder block substantially at the center between the first and second cylinder banks. An coolant inlet-passage to the water pump is provided in the part of the cylinder block between the foremost cylinder in the second bank and the front end of the cylinder block, which part is a dead space.
