    摘要: The invention concerns a modular transmission unit, in particular multistage transmission, comprising the following components: a box input and output; two superimposed gears as planetary gears with three shafts each including a sun wheel, a hollow wheel, a spacer and planetary wheels, each shaft equipped with solar wheels, hollow wheels, planetary wheels or spacers or components integrally coupled therewith in rotation. A first shaft of the first superimposed gear is integrally coupled in rotation with the box input. A second shaft of the first superimposed gear and a second shaft of the second superimposed gear are indirectly at least integrally coupled in rotation with the box output. Between the third shafts of the first and second superimposed gears is mounted a continuous variation transmission in the form of a traction mechanism box. The inventive modular unit further comprises elements controlling the gear shift ratio on the traction mechanism box. The invention is characterized in that the individual coupling of the individual superimposed gears and of the continuous variation transmission is provided by a linking gear including a multiplication and gear reduction stage. The first shaft of the second superimposed gear may be coupled with the box input through a first clutch. The second shaft of the first superimposed gear and the third shaft of the second superimposed gear may be coupled with the box output through at least one second clutch.

The input member (74) has a radially outer portion which overlaps a radially outer portion of said first motor/generator (48) in a radial direction of said input member and said first motor/generator. A speed reducing mechanism (56) of gear type is interposed between said output member (50) and said differential gear device (72), said speed reducing mechanism including a first intermediate shaft (58) and a second intermediate shaft (64) which are disposed rotatably about respective third and fourth axes (O3, O4) substantially parallel to said first axis (O1), such that a rotating speed of said input member of said differential gear device is reduced with respect to that of said output member. The output member consists of a drive sprocket (50) connected through a chain (62) to a drive sprocket (60) provided on said first intermediate shaft, and said first intermediate shaft is located radially outwardly of one of said first motor/generator and said second motor/generator which has a smaller diameter than the other.

    摘要: Electrically variable transmissions embodying the concepts of the present invention utilize two planetary gear subsets, two motor/generators and two clutches in the nature of torque transfer devices to effect input split, compound split, neutral and reverse modes of operation. Both planetary gear subsets may be simple, or one may be individually compounded. An electrical control member regulates power flow among an energy storage device and the two motor/generators. In either of two preferred embodiments the neutral mode of operation may be effected by releasing the two torque transfer devices, and the reverse mode of operation may be effected by reversing the magnetic polarity of one motor/generator. In addition, the two preferred embodiments allow a geared neutral as well as reverse to be effected by means of the differential gearing arrangement of the planetary gear subsets and other members of the transmissiom.
