Provided is a similarity evaluating device for collective data to evaluate similarity between collective data sets in which a plurality of pieces of data are collected. The device includes a patterning part patterning each data of collective data with a selected scale, a matching number extraction part comparing each patterned data in a round-robin to find numbers of matches, and a matching degree determination part finding a degree of matching on the basis of the found numbers of matches with the use of Tanimoto coefficient, thereby evaluating similarity of the collective data simply and quickly.

A real-time method and analytical system for determining haloacetic acids in water which operate by: (1) extracting samples on ion-exchange absorbent medium; (2) concentrating haloacetic acids on hyper-crosslinked medium; (3) eluting the analytes from the concentration medium for injection into an HPLC system; (4) separating individual haloacetic acid in reverse-phase chromatography performed by the HPLC system; and (5) measuring optical characteristics (UV-absorbance) of haloacetic acids, to determine concentration. The entire process can be performed using a completely self-contained, in-situ mechanism that sits at a water distribution point for 24/7 testing, with automated control, monitoring, reporting, and employment of remedial measures (e.g., automated adjustment of the water treatment process).

A method of analyzing a sugar chain by high performance liquid chromatography uses a column packed with a stationary phase including anion and cation exchangers. A fluorescence-labeled sample is prepared for the analysis by decomposing glycosaminoglycans to be analyzed into their constitutional units being disaccharides, capturing the disaccharides by glycoblotting, releasing the disaccharides by acid treatment, and subsequently reductively aminating the released disaccharides. In this method, two or more types of glycosaminoglycans can be simultaneously analyzed.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Messung der Lichtstreuungseigenschaften einer Probe in einem flüssigen Medium, wobei das flüssige Medium mit der Probe in einer Messzelle quer zur Einfüllrichtung bzw. quer zur Flussrichtung des flüssigen Mediums in die/der Messzelle von einem Laserstrahl beleuchtet wird, umfassend einen Laser, eine zylinderförmige Messzelle, ein erstes inneres Blendensystem, ein zweites äußeres Blendensystem und mindestens zwei Detektoren, wobei die Detektoren außerhalb des zweiten äußeren Blendensystems angeordnet sind, so dass sie das an der Probe gestreute Licht in festgelegten, unterschiedlichen Winkelbereichen erfassen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das erste innere Blendensystem und das zweite äußere Blendensystem um die Achse der Messzelle herum kreisförmig und konzentrisch ausgebildet und angeordnet sind.
