    摘要: An apparatus is provided for concentrating a solute sample which can be subsequently released for analysis by capillary electrophoresis. The apparatus comprises a tube containing a short length of packed particles or gel (18) adapted to retain sample solutes which particles are retained in the tube by tube constrictions (14,20) or porous plugs (28,30). The tube includes an inlet (24) for introducing a sample into the tube and an outlet (16) for introducing the retained sample into a capillary electrophoresis tube (12).

    摘要: An adsorptive trap for monitoring gases and/or vapours comprises a tube (1, 10, 11) (e.g. length about 4-8 cm, internal diameter about 3-5 mm) packed with one or more suitable adsorbents (3,12,18,19) in appropriate amount (e.g. about 0.5 g), each adsorbent being held packed in place between a pair of rigidly fixed porous discs (4,13,20) e.g. porous sintered powder or metal gauze or mesh discs. It has been found that these adsorptive traps provide improved accuracy and precision of measurement as compared with prior art traps in which the adsorbent is relatively loosely packed and retained in the tube. A preferred method of fabricating the traps makes use of thermal contraction and expansion by allowing a previously cooled, contracted, oversize disc to be loosely fitted within the tube and expand on warming to ambient temperature and thereby become rigidly fixed in place.

Un volume predetermine d'un eluant capable d'effectuer selectivement l'elution d'une substance desiree au travers de la micro-colonne (12) est contenu au-dessus de la garniture (16) de materiau absorbant. La micro-colonne (12) et le tube de centrifugation (42) sont dimensionnes de telle maniere que, par centrifugation du volume predetermine de l'eluant au travers de la micro-colonne, un niveau (46) de l'eluant restant dans la micro colonne (12) et un niveau (44) de l'eluant dans le tube centrifugation (42) coincident sensiblement avec ou au-dessus de la surface superieure (18) de la garniture (16) de materiau absorbant. En consequence, la centrifugation de l'ensemble de la micro-colonne (12) et du tube de centrifugation (42) provoque le passage d'un volume predetermine d'eluant au travers de la micro-colonne (12). La determination ou analyse de la substance desiree eluee de maniere selective peut etre effectuee par des procedes de spectrophotometrie.
