摘要： Printing stock for use in making a sign that includes a face sheet and a backing sheet. The sign is formed, for example, by overlapping a plurality of sheets of the printing stock, with the sheets arranged in a pattern to form a desired image of the sign. In a number of embodiments, the sheets of printing stock may be received through and printed on by a small­office, home-office (SOHO) printer. In other embodiments, the sheets of printing stock are of standard size for use with SOHO printers, i.e., A4, (21.6x27.9cms ) and legal size. The face sheet includes a printing surface for receiving ink and an adhesive surface for receiving the backing sheet. The face includes a face cut forming a margin and a face sub-sheet such that at least a portion of the margin is separable from the face sub-sheet. The backing sheet may include a backing cut forming a border and a backing sub-sheet such that at least a portion of the border is separable from the backing sub-sheet so that at least a portion of the adhesive surface of the face sheet is exposable. The face may include a plurality of registration marks for enabling the face sub-sheet from one sheet of printing stock that is separated from at least a portion of the margin thereof to be positioned with respect to the face sub-sheet from another sheet of printing stock.

摘要： A multilayer composite comprises a printable facestock with a carrier sheet separably laminated directly to its top surface. The facestock is a dimensionally unstable and/or low flexural stiffness transparent film having a thickness not greater than about 4.0 mils. In subsequent processing, graphics are printed on the bottom surface of the facestock followed by the application of pressure sensitive adhesive and a release liner. The liner is removable, allowing the composite to be adhered to a substrate, with the graphics remaining beneath and protected by the facestock. The carrier sheet is separable from the top surface of the facestock, either before or following removal of the release liner.

摘要： Lightweight, hook-engageable materials capable of functioning as hook-engageable fasteners are treated and configured for use for economical and attractive displays and decorations. Laminates of the material with various substrates with associated printing are used to form visually attractive point of purchase, merchandise or trade show displays. Self-supporting or stable materials having lettering or designs on their surface are used to form banners or floor coverings. Non-woven materials with varied areal density of fibers perform those functions with particular economy. Low density knit fabrics are also useful according to broad features of the invention. Methods are shown to produce reinforced corrugated board and desirably laminated and printed materials having hook-engageable surfaces.

The method comprises: providing a film comprising pressure sensitive adhesive coated on a major surface thereof; heating the film to a softening point of the film; and pressing the film against a substrate with an application device, the application device comprising a film-contacting portion, the film-contacting portion comprising a foam material and having a thermal conductivity of less than 1.8 BTU/hr-in-ft2-° F.; wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive on the major surface of the film adheres to the substrate. Application devices and kits that may be used in conjunction with the method are also disclosed herein.
