Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for establishing a trail in a network, where the method includes: in a process of establishing a first trail, adding, by a first ingress node to a first trail establishment response message when forwarding the first trail establishment response message, an IP address of the first ingress node and an optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs; and in a process of establishing a second trail, receiving, by the first ingress node, a first trail request message sent by a second ingress node in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs; and sending, by the first ingress node to the second ingress node in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, information about a trail that is of the first trail and is in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, so that the second ingress node determines, according to the information about the trail, a trail that is of the second trail and is in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, where the second trail and the first trail do not overlap. According to the embodiments of the present invention, that a trail that is of a working trail and is in each optical domain and a trail that is of a protection trail and is in each optical domain do not overlap can be met, and meanwhile inter-domain leakage of information in the optical domain can be prevented, thereby improving access security of the optical domain.

An optical switch unit in an optical switch matrix may be driven by using driving signals of different frequencies. The optical switch driving module includes an optical switch chip, and the optical switch chip includes multiple optical switch units (110). Each group of optical switch units (110) shares a pair of electrodes (101, 102), each pair of electrodes (101, 102) is configured to connect to a multi-frequency driving signal source (200), and each optical switch unit (110) is connected to a band-pass filter (120) and connects to the multi-frequency driving signal source (200) by using the band-pass filter (120). One or more optical path cross connection devices (OXC) through which a wavelength division multiplexed light signal travels when being transmitted from a prescribed transmission node to a prescribed receiving node, wherein when an optical channel inputted from an input optical fiber (Fi1-Fin) is routed or switched to one or more output optical fibers (Fo1-FoN), a plurality of optical channels adjacent on a frequency axis which are outputted to the same output optical fiber (FoN) in the input optical fibers (Fi1-Fin) are routed or switched to an output optical fiber by demultiplexing the plurality of optical channels as one bundle without demultiplexing each of the optical channels individually. Thus, it is possible to increase frequency use efficiency of an optical signal when transmitting wavelength division multiplexed light, because the instances of optical channel filtering are reduced and the loss caused by filtering is decreased.
