    摘要: An object of the present invention is to make a circuit board more versatile.
    There are prepared a horizontal connector 10A to be mounted on a circuit board 90 with a connecting direction with a mating connector orientated parallel to the board surface direction of a circuit board 90 and a vertical connector 10B to be mounted on the circuit board 90 with a connecting direction with a mating connector orientated normal to the board surface direction of the circuit board 90. In the horizontal connector 10A and vertical connector 10B, parts (board connecting portions 35A, 35B) of terminal fittings 30A, 30B to be inserted into connection holes 91 and parts (mounting holes 16A, 16B) of mounting portions 12A, 12B to be mounted with respect to fixing holes 92 are arranged at the same positions. Therefore, the circuit board 90 can be commonly used for both horizontal connector 10A and vertical connector 10B.

A compression mat (14) is positioned on a side of the flexible substrate opposite the crown-shaped heads includes a plurality of resilient cylinders (20) that extend away from the resilient base. Each resilient cylinder has a distal end alignable with a distal end of the post. A compression fitting is positionable adjacent the resilient base of the compression mat which co-acts with substrates to apply clamping force and urges projection of each contact into electrical contact with the conductive pad.

Then the flexible circuit boards incline, and connect the counterpart contacts (42) respectively.
