It is intended to solve the problem of the conventional process for producing a ceramic sheet through extrusion molding such that it is a production process of prolonged lead time requiring raw material granulation and homogenization operations and when the homogenization of kneaded clay is unsatisfactory, a density irregularity of green sheet would occur with the result that the ceramic sintered compact after sintering operation would suffer deformation and warpage to thereby cause failures in circuit pattern printing and joining between metal circuit board and heat sink. There is provided a process for producing a ceramic sheet, comprising use of an extrusion molding machine combining a twin screw extruder of powerful kneading capability with a single screw extruder of molding stability, so that a quality equivalent to or superior to that of the prior art can be obtained and that high production efficiency can be attained. Further, there is provided a ceramic substrate utilizing the same.

A highly reliable ceramic sheet with stable quality is obtained by using hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose as an organic binder, kneading a powder material, preferably, with a twin screw extruder, and then forming a sheet by means of a single screw extruder equipped with a sheet die, and the sheet is suitably used for a ceramic substrate and a ceramic circuit board.

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced concrete product, in which method at least one auger feeder (5) is used for propelling concrete mix through a defined extruder cross section (20, 21, 23). In the manufacture of the product, at least two different materials are produced suitable for use in the manufacture of a concrete product, at least one of the materials containing reinforcing fiber and both materials being dosed onto the auger feeders (5). The apparatus has two containers for the materials and during the feeding the relative proportions of the materials are controlled so that the ratio of the amount of the fiber-reinforced material to the amount of the unreinforced material is such that gives the end product an inhomogeneous distribution of the reinforcing fiber in the volume of the product, whereby at least one portion of the product volume has a greater volumetric content of the reinforcement than that of an equivalent volume in at least one other portion of the product. The final cast product contains desired amounts of reinforcement on areas where bigger loads are to be imposed on the product.
