Disclosed is a method for producing a (meth)acrylate ester wherein a high purity (meth)acrylate ester is obtained with a high yield, with a reduced loss of (meth)acrylic acid anhydride. In the method, (meth)acrylic acid is recovered with a high yield, and the (meth)acrylate ester is purified easily. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a (meth)acrylate ester which comprises: (1) a step of producing (meth)acrylic acid anhydride by reacting a specific fatty acid anhydride and (meth)acrylic acid, while removing a by-produced fatty acid; (2) a step of obtaining a (meth)acrylate ester by reacting an alcohol and unpurified (meth)acrylic acid anhydride obtained in step (1) preferably at a temperature not less than 90 °C; and (3) a step of recovering (meth)acrylic acid by distillation preferably at a temperature not less than 90 °C. The method may also comprise a step of heating or distilling the reaction liquid obtained in step (2) at a temperature not less than 90 °C.

The invention relates to a method for producting a high-purity (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase, comprising the process steps: I) reacting an alcohol phase with a (meth)acrylic acid phase in the presence of an esterification catalyst to obtain a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase; II) separating by distillation at least part of the water present in the (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase to obtain an arid (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase comprising the (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester, and an aqueous overhead product; III) separating the aqueous overhead product into an organic phase and a process wastewater phase; IV) further purifying the arid (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase comprising the (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester by a purification method comprising an alkaline reactive extraction step to obtain - a purified (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase and - a secondary component phase comprising an alkali salt; V) freeing the purified (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase from additional secondary products to obtain a high-purity (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester phase; wherein at least one of the following alternatives i) or ii), preferably i) and ii), applies; i) the secondary component phase comprising alkali salt is supplied to a combustion unit, wherein the secondary component phase comprising the alkali salt of the process wastewater phase is purified before being supplied to the combustion unit at a maximum of 50% by weight/hour, based on the volume of the secondary component phase comprising alkali salts developing in an hour; ii) the process wastewater phase is supplied for purification to a wastewater treatment system after separating at least part of the non-reacted alcohol still present in the process wastewater phase, wherein the process wastewater phase is purified, before being supplied to the wastewater treatment system at a maximum of 50% by weight/hour, based on the volume of process wastewater phase developing in hour, with the secondary component phase comprising the alkali salt. This invention relates to a process for the simultaneous coproduction of ethyl acetate and isopropyl acetate. The esterification reaction comprises contacting acetic acid with a mixed alcohol stream of ethanol and isopropanol. Exemplified is a purified, Fischer Tropsch derived mixture of ethanol and isopropanol. The esterification reaction occurs in the presence of an acidic catalyst in a liquid phase reaction system. The resultant crude reaction step product is separated and purified by distillation to produce acetate ester products having greater than 99.5 wt% purity.
