摘要: When the geometric compression ratio of an engine body (2) is set to 13 or more and the engine body operates in a preset high load region, the effective compression ratio of the engine body is set to 12 or more with a difference from the geometric compression ratio being within 2, a gas to be introduced into a combustion chamber (17) is supercharged by a supercharging system (49), fuel is injected at least in a compression stroke by an injector (6), and after the fuel injection is finished, an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber is ignited by an ignition plug (25) before the compression top dead center and is thus burned by flame propagation in the engine body, and then the unburned air-fuel mixture is burned by compression ignition.

摘要: A GDCI engine (12) has a piston (16) arranged within a cylinder (14) to provide a combustion chamber (18). According to one embodiment, the GDCI engine (12) operates using a method that includes the steps of supplying a hydrocarbon fuel to the combustion chamber (18) with a research octane number in the range of about 30-65. The hydrocarbon fuel is injected in completely stratified, multiple fuel injections before a start of combustion and supplying a naturally aspirated air charge to the combustion chamber (18).

摘要: An exhaust system for use with a spark- ignited gaseous fuel internal combustion engine comprising a turbocharger having a turbine in exhaust receiving communication with the engine and a compressor in charge air providing communication with the engine, the system comprising a main exhaust gas line in exhaust gas receiving communication with the turbine; a three-way catalyst positioned within the main exhaust line, the three-way catalyst configured to oxidize carbon monoxide and methane, and reduce nitrogen oxides present in the exhaust gas flowing through the main exhaust gas line; an exhaust gas recirculation line in exhaust gas receiving communication with the main exhaust line and exhaust gas providing communication with air flow received by the compressor, the exhaust gas recirculation line being positioned downstream of the three-way catalyst.
