There is provided a high performance optical waveguide type optical modulator with excellent long term reliability, in which contamination of the buffer layer in a forming process of a signal field adjustment region on the buffer layer by a lift-off method or an etching method, is prevented and DC drift thus suppressed. The optical waveguide type optical modulator 10 comprises a substrate 11 having an electro-optic effect, optical waveguides 12 formed on the surface of this substrate 11, a traveling-wave type signal electrode 13a and ground electrodes 13b which are provided on the substrate 11 and control a lightwave, and a buffer layer 14 provided between the electrodes 13 and the optical waveguides 12, and furthermore, a dielectric layer 15 is provided on the entire surface of the buffer layer 14 on the side of the electrodes 13, and a signal field adjustment region 16 which has a wider width than that of the traveling-wave type signal electrode 13a and is made of a material with a higher refractive index than that of the dielectric layer 15 is formed between the dielectric layer 15 and the traveling-wave type signal electrode 13a.

An improvement in cement used for mass concrete, high-strength concrete, high-fluidity concrete, noncontractive concrete and high-durability concrete in the fields of civil engineering and construction, and for building materials manufactured by extrusion molding and sheet making. When the ratio of A12O3 to Fe2O3 in the cement clinker is regulated to a value of 0.05-0.62, the strength of high-strength and high-fluidity concrete can be further improved, and the heat of hydration can be minimized as the fluidity improving performance and long term strength of the cement are maintained.

The transparent conductive film of the present invention is formed to have a conductive layer containing at least ruthenium fine particles, gold fine particles and silver fine particles, the weight ratio of ruthenium fine particles and gold fine particles in the conductive layer being within the range of 40:60 to 99:1. As a result, this transparent conductive film and a display device having this transparent conductive film have superior electromagnetic wave shielding effects and anti-reflection effects, high chemical stability and superior visibility.

The present invention relates to a paint for forming a transparent conductive thin film characterized in comprising at least a conductive oxide powder comprising a primary granular diameter of no greater than 100 nm; an easily dispersible low-boiling point solvent of the aforementioned conductive oxide powder; a difficultly dispersible high-boiling point solvent of the aforementioned conductive oxide powder; and a binder. By using the paint for forming a transparent conductive thin film, it is possible to form a transparent conductive thin film having superior transparency and conductive properties onto the surface of a transparent material. The present invention also provides a paint for forming a transparent conductive thin film which is useful as a coating for transparent material surfaces that require the effects of blocking static electricity, interfering with electromagnetic waves, and the like, such as screen surfaces for display devices, surface covering materials of the same, window glass, show window glass, covering materials for instruments, materials for "clean room" floors and walls, packaging materials for semiconductors, and the like; and a transparent conductive thin film obtained by means of coating the aforementioned paint as a transparent thin film.

The method for producing a paper feed roller includes a rotary shaft and a cylindrical roller portion integrated around an outer periphery of the rotary shaft, characterized in that the roller portion is formed by extruding a hydraulic composition and curing and hardening the extrudate.
