Provided is an adhesive composition which can form a cured product that is high in shear adhesion strength, peel adhesion strength and impact adhesion strength and particularly is excellent in cold/hot cycle resistance of adhesion strength. The adhesive composition comprises (a) a 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, (b) a high molecular-weight component compatible with 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, (c) a multifunctional 2-cyano-3-vinylacrylic acid ester, and (d) an onium salt represented by the following general formula (1): €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒC + A - €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(1) wherein, C + represents an onium cation and A - represents an anion which does not substantially initiate polymerization of the 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, and the components (a)-(d) are contained in predetermined amounts.

The present invention relates to a cyanoacrylate composition comprising a heterogeneous curing initiator which is a hydrated calcium silicate. The composition is suitable for repairing and filling depressions, cracks, or holes in a substrate or between substrates to be bonded. It also relates to an adhesive comprising said composition, to a syringe containing it, to a method for bonding substrates, to the use of said composition, and to the use of said hydrated calcium silicate as curing agent for cyanoacrylate compositions.

Provided is a medical adhesive with good biodegradable performance capable of undergoing crosslinking copolymerization, comprising a mono-alpha-cyanoacrylate and a bis-alpha-cyanoacrylic acid diol ester monomer molecule. The olefinic bonds in the mono-alpha-cyanoacrylate structure are polymerized in the presence of infinitesimal anions to form a solid 3D high polymer; the 3D high polymer is provided with degradation sites on the web-like backbone chain, with clear degradation path and absorbable degradation products. The medical adhesive can be used for wound adhesive, large area wound hemostasia, and visceral and soft tissue wound closure. Furthermore, the medical adhesive also has the potential to be used as a tissue engineered material.

Spectacles comprising spectacle mounts (a bridge piece (15) and two side pieces (29)) affixed to two lenses (2), the spectacle mounts being affixed by means of pins (25, 31) which are inserted into appropriately positioned holes or slots (28) drilled into the lenses (2). A single hole or slot (28) in the lens (2) is required to allow the attachment of each mount (15, 29) by location with the appropriate pin (25, 31). The holes or slots (28) are sized to match the dimensions of the pin to give the pins (25, 31) a “close” fit, and the adhesive is specifically chosen to act as a buffer between the pins (25, 31) and the lens (2), thereby substantially reducing or even eliminating the pressure around the assembly point which produces stress marks in rimless spectacles constructed using known methods.
