摘要: An implantable valve having a valve element or leaflet and a base that is attachable to a vessel wall using a connector such as a screw, pin or a staple. The valve can be implanted using a catheter to position the valve in a desired location and drive the connector into the vessel wall. The valve can be used as a venous valve to control blood flow within the veins, arteries, heart or the aorta of a patient.

摘要: A cooled mounting block (14) for an arrangement of a supersonic burner or lance (10) used in an electric arc furnace is designed to rest on a step (24) between a water-cooled side wall (23) and the hearth (21) of the furnace. The mounting block (14) comprises a plurality of fluid cooling conduits (47) surrounding a mounting aperture which is formed through the block (14) and adapted to mount the lance (10) and has a width approximately equal to the width of the step. The lance (10) is mounted by passing it through an aperture in the water-cooled side wall (23) aligned with the mounting aperture in the mounting block (14).

摘要: Process solutions comprising one or more surfactants are used to reduce the number of defects in the manufacture of semiconductor devices. In certain embodiments, the process solution may reduce post-development defects such as pattern collapse or line width roughness when employed as a rinse solution either during or after the development of the patterned photoresist layer. Also disclosed is a method for reducing the number of defects such as pattern collapse and/or line width roughness on a plurality of photoresist coated substrates employing the process solution of the present invention.

摘要: The present development relates to a modification of the Houdry process for the dehydrogenation of aliphatic hydrocarbons, whereby the dehydrogenation cycle is extended, or lengthened, and hydrogen gas is added into the reaction. The combination of the extended cycle with the hydrogen introduction results in a surprising stabilization of the production rate in the dehydrogenation process. The hydrogen gas may be introduced through a recycle step. The process of the present development is demonstrated for the dehydrogenation of propane to propylene.

摘要: A biocide composition is formed from a peroxide and a hypochlorite, wherein the biocide composition is formed by adding the peroxide to the hypochlorite in an amount so that the weight ratio of the hypochlorite to the peroxide is no less than about 10:1. A method of producing a biocide composition is carried out by charging to a vessel a quantity of a hypochlorite, and then adding to the hypochlorite so charged a quantity of a peroxide, the weight ratio of the hyplchlorite so charged to the peroxide added thereto being no less than about 10:1. A related method is practiced by applying a biocidally effective amount of the biocide composition of the invention to a surface to be decontaminated.

摘要: A graft system for intraluminal delivery in a vessel in need of repair comprising a graft (140), anchoring means (130), and a strippable sheath (150) around at least part of the graft (140). A preferred anchoring means is a balloon-expandable stent (130). Also included in the invention is a method of using the device to treat a body lumen. The strippable sheath (150) is removable by pulling on a drawstring to remove it which permits expansion of the graft. The positioning of the device may then be adjusted prior to stent (130) dilation. A preferred embodiment of the invention includes a bifurcated graft system for intraluminal delivery in an aortic aneurysm comprising a bifurcated graft having a distal region (630) and two legs (620,660), an expandable stent (130) disposed in part of the distal region, and a strippable crocheted sheath (150) around the distal region and one of the two legs (620). The strippable crocheted sheath (150) is removable by untying it to permit expansion of the graft (140) after initial placement within the aneurysm.

摘要: A device, system, and method for attaching soft tissue to bone is provided. The system includes an anchoring device (150) and delivery device (200) which allow a surgeon to achieve two different objectives during reattachment of tissue to bone. The system allows grasping and manipulation of the tissue to achieve proper location and tension on the tissue, and also attachment of the tissue to the bone after the desired location and tension are achieved. The anchoring device (150) comprises a base (100), means for anchoring the device in bone, and at least two tissue grabbing members 8124, 125). Also included is a method of using the system to reattach soft tissue to bone.

摘要: A delivery system (30) comprising an endoluminal device (10), an outer sheath (28) that radially surrounds the endoluminal device (10), a pusher (27) positioned at one end (11) of the endoluminal device (10) , and a linkage (32) between the pusher (27) and the outer sheath (28) that coordinates movement of the outer sheath (28) in a first direction with simultaneous movement of the pusher (27) in a second direction opposite the first direction. This delivery system (30) is particularly useful for endoluminal devices that foreshorten, and may comprise the outer sheath (28) moving a first distance (d1) and the pusher (27) moving s second (d2) where d2/d1 is approximately equal to the foreshortening ratio. The delivery system (30) of this invention enables a foreshortening device, such as a vena cava filter, or stent, graft, or combination thereof, to be deployed with its end (12) in a precise deployment location (29) without foreshortening causing the end (12) to move from the deployment location (29) as the stent (10) expands.

摘要: A stent-graft comprising a stent and a graft having a supported portion lining or covering at least a portion of the stent, and an unsupported portion extending proximally beyond the proximal end of the stent. The stent-graft may have a length corresponding to at least a mean standard length from a standard incision point to a distal-most portion of a standard lumen into which the distal end of the stent is adapted to be deployed, with the unsupported portion of the graft extending beyond the mean standard length by an amount equal to at least two, if not three or more, standard deviations of the mean standard length. A method for deploying the stent-graft comprises making an incision in a wall of the lumen, introducing and deploying the stent-graft in the lumen so that the proximal end extends beyond the incision, and attaching the graft to a lumen by anastamosis.
