The invention relates to a method for determining the elongation and/or compression of a profiled sealing element applied to a body or a body part of a vehicle. The self-adhesive profiled sealing element, which exists as an endless profiled element, is drawn from a store and, with the help of an application roller and by means of an adhesive surface present on the profiled sealing element, rolled onto the body part along a line intended for the attachment. The problem addressed by the invention is that of enabling continuous, nondestructive determination of the elongation and/or compression of all applied profiled sealing elements without interruption of operation and in particular without the use of personnel or material. This problem is solved by a method and a device, wherein a measuring roller, which rolls on the profiled sealing element without slip, is arranged at a small distance before a drive system for the profiled sealing element to be applied. Because of this arrangement of the measuring roller and the slip-free rolling on the profiled sealing element, the length sensed by the measuring roller of the measuring sensor corresponds to the length of the profiled sealing element applied to the body part or to the body along an application distance having a defined length. If the measured length is longer than the application distance, there is a compression of the profiled sealing element. If the measured length is shorter than the application distance, there is an elongation of the profiled sealing element.

The invention relates to a device and to a method for stacking plate-like products into a straight, cylindrical stack having an upper and a lower side and at least two side surfaces arranged at a distance from each other. Such stacking tasks identical products arise, for example, when joining the core stackings of transformers or the plates of clutches. In order to create a desired pretension in the stack already during stacking, which can even be maintained when individual products are added, the plate-like products are lifted against gravity from the bottom to the top into a stack nest, the products are held in the stack nest by applying a force on the side surfaces thereof to prevent dropping in the direction of gravity. While the force application is maintained, further products are added to the stack in the stack nest from the bottom side.
