[Problem] The invention provides titanium oxide fine particles which are excellent in transparency and are less photocatalytically active while maintaining a high refractive index, a dispersion of such fine particles, and a method for producing such a dispersion. [Solution] A method for producing a dispersion of iron-containing rutile titanium oxide fine particles including a step (1) of neutralizing an aqueous metal mineral acid salt solution containing Ti and Fe in Fe 2 O 3 /(TiO 2 + Fe 2 O 3 ) = 0.001 to 0.010 to form an iron-containing hydrous titanic acid; a step (2) of adding an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution to form an aqueous solution of iron-containing peroxotitanic acid having an average particle size of 15 to 50 nm; a step (3) of adding a tin compound so as to satisfy TiO 2 /SnO 2 = 6 to 16; a step (4) of adding a sol of silica-based fine particles which contain Si and a metal element M in SiO 2 /MO x/2 = 99.9/0.1 to 80/20, the addition being made so as to satisfy SiO 2 /(oxides of the other elements) = 0.08 to 0.22; and a step (5) of hydrothermally treating the solution obtained in the step (4).

In a hydrocracking process, the product from the first stage reactor passes through a steam stripper to remove hydrogen, H2S, NH3, light gases (C1-C4), naphtha and diesel products. The stripper bottoms are separated from hydrogen, H2S, NH3, light gases (C1-C4), naphtha, and diesel products and treated in a second stage reactor. The effluent stream from the second stage reactor, along with the stream of separated hydrogen, H2S, NH3, light gases (C1-C4), naphtha, and diesel products, are passed to a separation stage for separating petroleum fractions. Preferably, the effluent stream from the first stage reactor is passed through a steam generator prior to the steam stripping step. In an alternate embodiment, the effluent stream from the first stage reactor is passed through a vapor/liquid separator stripper vessel prior to the steam stripping step.

The present invention relates to a hydrocracking catalyst for hydrocarbon oil comprising a support containing a framework-substituted zeolite-1 in which zirconium atoms and/or hafnium atoms form a part of a framework of an ultra-stable Y-type zeolite and a hydrogenative metal component carried thereon and a method for producing the same. The hydrocracking catalyst of the present invention makes it easy to diffuse heavy hydrocarbon oils such as VGO, DAO and the like into mesopores, is improved in a cracking activity and makes it possible to obtain a middle distillate at a high yield as compared with catalysts prepared by using zeolite comprising titanium and/or zirconium carried thereon. Further, it has a little low cracking activity as compared with conventional hydrocracking catalysts containing zeolite in which titanium is substituted in a framework, but overcracking reactor of kerosene and gas oil is inhibited, and therefore a middle distillate can be obtained at a high yield. Also, the hydrocracking catalyst for hydrocarbon oil according to the present invention is increased in the number of active sites and therefore provided with a high hydrocracking activity.

Oligomer-modified fine particles include inorganic oxide fine particles having a surface modified with an oligomer, the oligomer being derived from a metal alkoxide represented by Formula (1): R n M 1 (OR') z-n (1) wherein M 1 : one or more elements selected from Si, Ti, Zr and Al; R and R': one or more groups selected from alkyl groups of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, aryl groups and vinyl groups; n: an integer of from 0 to (z - 2); and z: the valence of M 1 . The oligomer has a polymerization degree of 3 or more. The oligomer has a weight average molecular weight in the range of 1000 to 10000.
