摘要: In a cast product having a projecting portion that projects from a body portion and is integratedly cast with the body portion, a wall surface of the projecting portion is connected and integratedly cast with the body portion by means of a plurality of ribs. By this configuration, molten metal can easily flow up to a tip end of the projecting portion passing through the plurality of ribs from the body portion, and as a result, the generation of a casting cavity at the tip end of the projecting portion can be prevented. Furthermore, the strength of the projecting portion can be improved through reinforcement by means of the plurality of ribs.

A clutch C2, which corresponds to the third sun gear 23s which rotates at a higher speed than that of the third ring gear 23r, is disposed between the Ravigneaux type planetary gear mechanism 25 and a second planetary gear 22 disposed in proximity to the Ravigneaux type planetary gear mechanism 25 with respect to a first planetary gear 21.

Accordingly, the force occurring on the ball bearing (60) can be made to only the force to be applied (in the X1 direction). It becomes possible to realize higher durability and more compactness of the ball bearing (60) and also to support the axial position of the output shaft with high accuracy.

Thereby, it becomes possible to reduce the diameter of the output side transfer member 104 (or 13, 101) of the fourth clutch C-4, it is possible to reduce the weight, the inertia can be reduced, and it is possible to improve the controllability of an automatic transmission 1 for a vehicle.
