The present disclosure provides a gear scheme for an automatic transmission having a transmission input and a transmission output. The gear scheme also includes a first rotating torque-transferring mechanism and a second rotating torque-transferring mechanism, each of which are independently coupled to the transmission input. The gear scheme includes a plurality of stationary torque-transferring mechanisms disposed between the transmission input and transmission output, specifically a first planetary gearset, a second planetary gearset, a third planetary gearset, and a fourth planetary gearset. Moreover, the fourth planetary gearset includes an input and an output and the third planetary gearset includes an input and an output. The output of the third planetary gearset is coupled to the transmission output and the input of the fourth planetary gearset. Further, the output of the fourth planetary gearset is coupled to the input of the third planetary gearset.
