The aim of the invention is to establish a reliable prediction of a displacement path of an object which displaces in road traffic, even in the event of long prediction periods. The invention also relates to a method, wherein a driving manoeuvre which is carried out by an object is initially determined (203) using an evaluation of a determined displacement variable of the object. Then, a model (2051;...;205N) of the displacement of the object is selected according to the determined driving manoeuvre and the displacement path of the object is calculated using the selected model. The invention also relates to a device for predicting the displacement path of an object, which is suitable for carrying out said method. The object can be a vehicle as well as an object in the surrounding area of the vehicle.

The invention relates to a method for carrying out a deviating manoeuvre in front of an object which is located in the surrounding area, and where the vehicle is located on a collision course. In order to determine the deviating path in the most simple way possible, and, in particular, to parameter the path in the most simple way possible, the deviating path is sigmoidal according to formula (I), whereby the shape thereof is determined by at least one parameter (a; B; c), which is determined according to the speed of the vehicle and/or a desired manoeuvre width of the deviating manoeuvre. The invention also relates to device which is suitable for carrying out said method.
