摘要: A heat radiator (1) includes an insulating substrate (3) whose first side serves as a heat-generating-element-mounting side, and a heat sink (5) fixed to a second side of the insulating substrate (3). A metal layer (7) is formed on a side of the insulating substrate (3) opposite the heat-generating-element-mounting side. A stress relaxation member (4) intervenes between the metal layer (7) of the insulating substrate (3) and the heat sink (5). The stress relaxation member (4) is formed of an aluminum plate (10) having a plurality of through holes (9) formed therein, and the through holes (9) serve as stress-absorbing spaces. The stress relaxation member (4) is metal-bonded to the metal layer (7) of the insulating substrate (3) and to the heat sink (5). This heat radiator (1) is low in material cost and exhibits excellent heat radiation performance.

In a hydrogen-storage container (10) holding a hydrogen-occlusion alloy (30) in which hydrogen is occluded, an air gap portion (40) formed in the container is filled with hydrogen gas whose pressure is above a plateau equilibrium pressure of hydrogen gas contained in the hydrogen-occlusion alloy (30) at a temperature of a location where the hydrogen-storage container (10) is installed. This hydrogen-storage container (10) has a liner (20) made of metal or resin, and a fiber-reinforced resin layer (25) provided outside the liner (20).

摘要: A cooling apparatus (3) for a fuel cell system (1) having high cooling efficiency. The cooling apparatus includes a chemical heat pump circuit (HP1) using isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and hydrogen gas as a heat carrier. The chemical heat pump circuit includes an endothermic device (24) incorporated in the fuel cell and an exothermic device (26) for releasing heat from the circuit. The temperature of a heat carrier is increased to a first temperature by the heat of the fuel cell. The chemical heat pump circuit uses the heat of the heat carrier after it is heated to the first temperature to heat the heat carrier to a second temperature, which is higher than the first temperature. The heat of the heat carrier is used for other useful purposes or is simply desorbed. After the heat carrier is heated to the second temperature, the heat carrier is easily cooled by a cooling fan. Thus, the cooling apparatus has a high cooling efficiency.
