摘要: An apparatus (1) for supplying breathable gas is disclosed. The apparatus (1) includes a relatively rigid external housing (2), at least one noise producing component (3, 4, 5, 6) internal the housing (2), and a thin flexible enclosure (8) substantially sealed around the noise producing components (3, 4, 5, 6). A method of assembling the apparatus (1) is also disclosed. The method comprises the steps of assembling the noise producing component(s) (3, 4, 5, 6) into a sub-assembly, placing the sub-assembly into the interio (9) of the thin flexible enclosure (8) through an opening therein, substantially sealing the opening, and placing the flexible enclosure (8) within the external housing (2).

摘要: An apparatus (10) for supplying breathable gas is disclosed. The apparatus (10) includes a main housing (12), a sub-housing (14), having a gas flow path (28) between a gas inlet (16) and a gas outlet (18), a motive power source (22) within the main housing (12) and an impeller (30) within the sub-housing (14) in fluid communication between the gas inlet (16) and the gas outlet (18). The impeller (30) is adapted to releasably engage the motive power source (22) external the gas flow path (28) and the sub-housing (14) is releasably connectable to said main housing. Also disclosed is a method of cleaning, sterilising or desinfecting the gas flow path (28) of the breathable gas supply apparatus (10). The method of cleaning comprising the steps of removing the sub-housing (14) from the main housing (12) cleaning, sterilising, desinfecting or replacing the sub-housing (14) and connecting the sub-housing (14) to the main housing (12).

摘要: A patient interface for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a nasal prong assembly (22) including a pair of nasal prongs (24) structured to sealingly communicate with nasal passages of a patient's nose in use and headgear (25) to maintain the nasal prong assembly in a desired position on the patient's face. The headgear includes side straps (53) and rigidizers (52) provided to respective side straps. Each rigidizer includes a first end portion that provides a connector (56) structured to engage a respective end of the nasal prong assembly and an inwardly curved protrusion (63) in the form of a cheek support that curves inwardly of the connector. The cheek support is adapted to follow the contour of the patient's cheek and guide a respective end portion of the side strap into engagement with the patient's cheek to provide a stable cheek support.

The system may include a flow pressurizer apparatus configured to generate a pressurized flow of air through a fine bore delivery conduit toward a patient interface. The system may further include a treatment compensator coupled with the fine bore delivery conduit. The treatment compensator may be configured at the patient interface to reduce pressure for patient inspiration. A processor may control adjustments to the pressure generated by the flow pressurizer apparatus.

摘要: A control system (706) provides automated control of gas washout of a patient interface, such as a mask or nasal prongs. A gas washout vent assembly (60) of the system may include a variable exhaust area such as one defined by overlapping apertures of the assembly or a conduit having a variable gas passage channel. The vent assembly may be formed by nested structures, such as conic or cylindrical members, each having an opening of the overlapping apertures. The vent assembly may be attached substantially near or included with the patient interface. An actuator of the assembly, such as a solenoid or voice coil, manipulates an aperture of the vent assembly. The actuator may be configured for control by a controller to change the exhaust area of the vent assembly based on various methodologies including, for example, sleep detection, disordered breathing event detection, rebreathing volume calculation and/or leak detection.
