The inventive estimating device establishes a first signal representing a static component (C_static) of the vehicle load using a circuit (3) which receives an information representing the engine torque (Engine_torque). A second signal representing a dynamic component (C_dynamic) of the vehicle load using a circuit (7) which receives an information concerning the instantaneous transmission ratio of a circuit (1) and an information of the vehicle speed.
