Abstract:
An active circulator for a microwave system. The microwave system includes at least one front-end arrangement. Each front-end arrangement includes a power amplifier function arranged to deliver an amplified output signal via a circulator function to an antenna in a transmit mode. A low noise amplifier function is arranged to amplify an input signal from the antenna via the circulator function in a receive mode. The circulator function is arranged to direct a signal flow between the transmit and receive modes. Each front-end arrangement includes one active circulator. The active circulator includes the power amplifier function, the low noise amplifier function and the circulator function of directing a signal flow. The functions integrated into one module. Also, a method to manufacture the active circulator.
Abstract:
A power circuit suitable for combining or splitting broadband signals. The circuit includes a stepped impedance section, a core section and a first, second and third port. The stepped impedance section and the core section are interconnected at an interconnection. The stepped impedance section includes a first transmission line running from the first port to the interconnection. The core section includes a second and a third transmission line running from the interconnection to the second and third ports, respectively. The second and third transmission lines each have at least a first and a second core subsection. The number of core subsections of the second transmission line and the number of core subsections of the third transmission line is equal, to the number of stepped impedance subsections of the stepped impedance section.
Abstract:
A distributed power amplifier arranged to operate over a bandwidth. An input side with an input terminal is arranged to receive an input signal and connected to an input transmission line. An output side with an output terminal is adapted to deliver an output signal and connected to an output transmission line. A power splitter is connected to the input terminal, thus being arranged to divide the input signal in a first path to the input transmission line and in a second path to an input of an active matching circuit. The active matching circuit has an output connected to the output transmission line. The other end of the output transmission line is connected to the output terminal. A method to design a distributed power amplifier and to modify existing distributed power amplifiers.
Abstract:
A filter unit and a corresponding printed circuit board. The filter unit and the printed circuit board have been equipped with modified end portions being matched such that a number of filter units can be used on the printed circuit board without changing the printed circuit board.
