The method comprises (a) providing a feed stream, (b) separating the feed stream into at least two fraction streams comprising the first fraction stream and the second fraction stream, (c) subj ecting the feed stream or at least two fraction streams to a first hydroprocessing step before or after the (b), (d) subj ecting the feed stream or at least two fraction streams to a second hydroprocessing step before or after the (b), wherein after steps (b) through (d), the at least two fraction streams produce at least two product streams comprising the first product stream and the second product stream. The present invention also provides a lube base oil and a lubricant composition comprising the lube base oil.

Provided is a method for reducing the amount of organic acids in a hydrocarbon oil fraction by hydrogenating the organic acids in the hydrocarbon oil fraction under mild conditions. Provided is a new method able to overcome the problem of organic-acid-induced corrosion during the process of distillation, by using hydrogen or a hydrogen-containing mixed gas and a hydrogenation catalyst to subject the organic acids in the hydrocarbon oil fraction to hydrogenation at an appropriate temperature and pressure, thereby converting the same to hydrocarbons and so reducing the amount of organic acids in the hydrocarbon oil fraction.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing lubricating base oils by using vacuum distilled deasphalted oil, and more specifically, to a method for preparing various kinds of lubricating base oils by distilling a distillate obtained from a solvent deasphalting (SDA) process under reduced pressure to obtain heavy deasphalted oil (H-DAO) and light deasphalted (Lt-DAO) and then treating the H-DAO and the Lt-DAO by catalytic reactions, respectively. According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain heavy lubricating base oil (150BS) of a high viscosity grade which can not be obtained by a known catalytic reaction and a lubricating base oil of group III by hydrogenation, in a high yield, and thus economical efficiency is excellent.
