The present invention relates to a process for producing a multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet, and concretely to a process and an apparatus for producing a multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet which has a smooth surface and is excellent in vacuum formability. Further, the present invention specifically relates to a multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet excellent in vacuum formability and to a foamed container body and a foamed container using the same. As a producing method of the present invention, for example, a method for producing a multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet comprising at least one polyolefin foamed layer and at least one polyolefin non-foamed layer, wherein the method uses a producing apparatus (1) comprising at least one first extruder (3) for extruding a material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer wherein the first extruder (3) is equipped with a foaming agent-supplying device for supplying a foaming agent to a cylinder, at least one second extruder (5) for extruding a material for forming a polyolefin non-foamed layer and at least one extrusion die (7) for co-extruding the material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer and the material for forming a polyolefin non-foamed layer therethrough to form the multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet, the method comprising: a melt kneading step in which, in the first extruder (3), a resin material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer is melted and the melted resin material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer and a foaming agent supplied from the foaming agent-supplying device (6) are mixed to form the material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer; a melting step in which the material for forming a polyolefin non-foamed layer is melted in the second extruder (5); and a co-extruding step in which the material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer and the material for forming a polyolefin non-foamed layer in their melted states are co-extruded into atmospheric pressure though the extrusion die (7) and the extruded material for forming a polyolefin foamed layer is foamed to form the multilayer polyolefin foamed sheet, and the like is provided.

A hollow molded article having no sink marks on its surface and having an excellent appearance is produced by filling a mold cavity with a resin being in a molten state and then ejecting at least a part of the resin by sucking through a resin-ejection opening (4) and introducing gas through a gas-introduction opening (5) into the resin inside of which being in a negative pressure. According to this process, the use of a high-pressure gas is not required.

A molded article of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin with good appearance and improved mechanical properties is produced by a method which comprises steps of supplying at least two porous fibrous sheets (3) which optionally carry a thermoplastic resin sheet or film in a mold (2), supplying a melt mass of a thermoplastic resin which contains fibers as a reinforcing material dispersed therein in a space between said porous fibrous sheets, and forcing said resin melt to fill the pores of the porous sheets by resin supplying pressure and/or pressing pressure and to reach outer surfaces of said porous fibrous sheet or to adhere the thermoplastic resin to the thermoplastic resin sheet or film.

The present invention provides a process for supplying a compressed gas, which is performed in a process for producing a hollow article comprising steps of supplying a molten resin into a mold cavity formed by a pair of a male mold and a female mold and supplying the compressed gas into the molten resin in the mold cavity, wherein the compressed gas is supplied under following three conditions:
(1) the compressed gas is supplied from plural gas supplying openings; (2) the compressed gas is supplied from two or more gas supplying openings simultaneously, during at least a part of the period of time when the compressed gas is supplied; and (3) during at least a part of the period of time when the compressed gas is supplied from two or more gas supplying openings simultaneously, the supplying pressure or the rate of flow of the compressed gas at, at least, one gas supplying opening differs from those at the other gas supplying openings. The present invention also provides a process for producing a hollow article using the above process.

A method for producing a hollow molded article having a skin material comprises steps of: (a) providing a skin material between a first mold and a second mold which are in an open state; (b) supplying a molten thermoplastic resin between the first mold and the second mold; (c) closing the first mold and the second mold; (d) inserting a first hollow pin into the molten thermoplastic resin and supplying a gas into the resin through the first hollow pin to form a hollow part; (e) inserting a second hollow pin into said hollow part and supplying the gas through the first hollow pin while discharging the gas through the second hollow pin, thereby to circulate the gas in the hollow part to cool and solidify the molten thermoplastic resin; and (f) opening the first mold and the second mold and taking out the hollow molded article. A hollow molded article with a skin material can be efficiently cooled by means of a simple apparatus and operation without using a complicated apparatus or a special cooling material. Further, a hollow resin molded article having a skin material can be uniformly cooled in a short time without temporarily reducing the pressure in the hollow part and, therefore, a hollow molded article with a skin material free from distortion can be obtained.
