摘要: A direct injection type internal combustion engine capable of controlling the status of combustion by stratifying an intake in a combustion chamber, reducing harmful substances contained in exhaust gases, and injecting fuel into the combustion chamber, wherein intakes with different compositions are disposed at the center part (13) containing the fuel injection position of the combustion chamber (1) and the peripheral parts thereof, respectively, at the start of the combustion of fuel near the end of a compression stroke, the intakes with different compositions being those containing specified components different in density such as exhaust gases and fuel.

摘要: A fuel injection apparatus capable of injecting fuel by very high pressure, provides excellent combustion and exhaust characteristics, and provides fuel injection at a desired fuel injection pattern. In a fuel injection apparatus (30), a projection (61) is provided on the tip section of a piston control valve (60) provided on a pressure intensifier (54), and substantial opening area of a fuel flow passage (57) to a cylinder (56) can be varied as the piston control valve (60) moves, so that an inflow amount of fuel oil flowing into the cylinder (56) can be controlled (controlled by orifice) by the piston control valve (60). Because of the structure above, an injection rate and injection pressure of fuel that is injected from a fuel injection nozzle (34) can be controlled, and a fuel injection pattern with very high degree of freedom can be achieved.

摘要: A fuel injection method in a fuel injector with an accumulator and a booster capable of realizing excellent combustion and exhaust characteristics and injecting fuel in any fuel injection pattern to increase the degree of freedom of the fuel injection pattern, comprising the step of performing a fuel injection while controlling at least one of the maximum injection pressure of fuel injected from a fuel injection nozzle, the increase rate of an injection pressure at the start of boosting, the lowering rate of the injection pressure at the end of injection, a pilot injection pressure, and an after-injection pressure by adjusting an injection control valve and a piston control valve independently of each other to adjust a phase difference between the operations thereof, whereby the fuel injection pattern with a very high degree of freedom can be realized by positively utilizing, as an injection control element, a pressure during the transition from a base common rail pressure to the maximum static pressure statically determined by the operations of the accumulator and the booster.
