摘要: Systems, devices, and methods for transvascular ablation of target tissue are disclosed herein. The devices and methods may, in some examples, be used for splanchnic nerve ablation to increase splanchnic venous blood capacitance to treat at least one of heart failure and hypertension. For example, the devices disclosed herein may be advanced endovascularly to a target vessel in the region of a thoracic splanchnic nerve (TSN), such as a greater splanchnic nerve (GSN) or a TSN nerve root. Also disclosed are method of treating heart failure, such as HFpEF, by endovascularly ablating a thoracic splanchnic nerve to increase venous capacitance and reduce pulmonary blood pressure.

摘要: An electroporation apparatus comprises a plurality of electroporation probe (26) terminals (27) and a transformer (6) for providing stepped-up voltage. Also, there is a switching circuit (7) with switches (24, 25) for linking high voltage and low voltage or ground levels to the probe terminals (26). A controller (2, 4, 5) configured to control said switches according to a control scheme to deliver pulses to the probe terminals (27), and in which said pulses are delivered to groups of at least two probe electrode terminals for probe electrodes which are spaced apart. The controller maps data defining relative physical positions of probe terminals (P1-P7) to be connected to the terminals (27) and directs pulses for applying voltages across space bounded by the probe electrodes.

摘要: Proposed are a radiofrequency ablation system and a method of controlling the radiofrequency ablation system, the system and the method being capable of selectively executing a monopolarity mode, in which heat is concentratedly generated around each of one pair of electrodes, or a bipolarity mode, in which heat is concentratedly generated between one pair of electrodes, without increasing pressure with a lesion by inserting a plurality of electrodes into the surrounding tissue instead of direct insertion thereof into the lesion. With the system and the method, efficiency in heat generation can be maximized, and a tumor recurrence ratio can be reduced.

摘要: The present invention discloses a pulse generator configured for use with a probe for delivering ablation therapy to a patient, the pulse generator comprising output circuitry for delivering voltage-based therapy, monitoring circuitry for monitoring characteristics of delivered therapy pulses, and control circuitry comprising a non-volatile memory containing an executable instruction set adapted to deliver therapy, characterized in that the therapy comprises: a first pulse of a first polarity having a first amplitude and a first pulse width; a first pulse train having a plurality of second pulses of a second polarity opposite the first polarity, the second pulses having second amplitudes and second pulse widths, the second pulse widths being less than one-half of the first pulse width; such that the first pulse yields a first charge imbalance, and the first pulse train yields a second charge imbalance that offsets the first charge imbalance to prevent muscle stimulation.

摘要: Example apparatuses and systems are disclosed for providing controlled delivery of electrolysis treatment and cellular permeabilization treatment to a site in tissue. A system disclosed may include an electrode, a power supply, and a controller. The controller may control a charge applied to the electrode to induce a direct current through the aqueous matrix to produce electrolysis products and a voltage to produce electroporation. The duration and magnitude of the charge applied may determine the dose of the products and the degree of the permeabilization of cells in the treatment site. The composition of the electrodes may be chosen in accordance with the desired products produced and electro -poration effects. An apparatus is disclosed that may be in the form of electrodes for electrolysis and electrodes for electroporation applied to the tissue. An apparatus is disclosed that may be used for treating internal tissue.
