摘要:
A PAP system (10), comprising a PAP device to generate a supply of pressurized air; a patient interface (30) adapted to form a seal with the patient's face; air delivery tubing to interconnect the patient interface and the PAP device, wherein the air delivery tubing includes two inlet tubes (40) each adapted to pass along the patient's cheek region and above or below the ears, preferably wherein the two inlet tubes are each adapted to pass over the crown of the patient's head; and a cover that substantially encloses at least a portion of the PAP device and a portion of the air delivery tubing, wherein the cover (50) allows the PAP device to be carried by and/or supported on the patient's head.

The present invention monitors and interprets physiological signals and spontaneous breathing events to detect the onset of arousal. Once the onset of arousal is determined, the present invention determines adjustments that are needed in the operation of a therapeutic device to avoid or minimize arousals. In one embodiment, the present invention includes one or more sensors which detect a patient's physiological parameters, a controller which monitors and determines the onset of arousal based on the physiological variables received from the sensor, and a therapeutic treatment device which is controlled by the controller. The sensor can be a combination of one or more devices which are able to monitor a physiological parameter that is used by the present invention to determine the onset of arousal or the onset of a sleep disorder. The sensors can be integrated into one unit or may operate independent of the others.

A method of controlled delivery of breathing gases is described the method comprising: applying breathing gas pressure within the first naris of a patient during inhalation; applying breathing gas pressure within the second naris of the patient during inhalation; applying breathing gas pressure within the first naris of the patient during exhalation; and applying breathing gas pressure within the second naris of the patient during exhalation, wherein the breathing gas pressure applied to the first naris during inhalation is higher than the gas pressure applied to the second naris during inhalation and the breathing gas inflow to the patient is substantially through the first naris during inhalation and wherein the breathing gas pressure applied to the first naris during exhalation is lower than the gas pressure applied to the second naris during exhalation and the gas outflow from the patient is substantially through the first naris during exhalation. An apparatus and system implementing the method is also described.

A magnetic resonance imaging system adaptively and dynamically adjusts color and brightness of illuminators mounted on the inside of a bore in response to a scan sequence used for magnetic resonance imaging or the state of a patient in order to relieve discomfort during magnetic resonance imaging. An illuminator control unit selects and determines optical characteristics of the illuminators in response to a scan sequence or the state of a patient.

A system to prompt a subject to consciously alter one or more physiological parameters during childbirth-related contractions includes an imaging subsystem, a contraction sensor, and various computer program modules. The computer program module are configured to determine a physiological parameter, contraction information, a target action rate, and cues based thereon. The physiological parameter may include a breathing rate. The target action rate may include a target breathing rate. The cues may include breathing cues.

A method for logging ventilator data. The method includes logging the ventilator data, wherein the ventilator data is associated with a ventilator; and providing access to the logged ventilator data for use by a medical entity.
摘要:
The present invention relates to a method for treating the blood of a patient (2), comprising dewatering of the blood of the patient (2) at an adjustable dewatering rate, wherein the position of the patient (2) is determined and the dewatering rate is set and controlled in an open-loop and/or closed-loop manner according to the determined position of the patient (2). The invention further relates to a device for treating the blood of a patient (2), comprising a blood treatment device (1) for dewatering the blood of the patient (2) at an adjustable dewatering rate, characterized by position determining means (40, 42, 44, 46) for determining the position of the patient (2), wherein the dewatering rate can be set and controlled in an open-loop and/or closed-loop manner according to the determined position of the patient.
