The subject of the invention is a device for generating images (10) for automotive vehicle head-up display (100), comprising a liquid crystal screen (12) and a back-lighting device (14), said back-lighting device (14) comprising: at least one light-emitting diode (16), a housing (28; 29) surrounding the space lying between the at least one light-emitting diode (16) and the liquid crystal screen (12), characterized in that said housing (28; 29) is bent, the device for generating images (10) furthermore comprising a reflecting surface (31; 32) arranged in a bent portion (28c; 29c) of the housing (28; 29) and oriented in such a way as to reflect the light emitted by the at least one light-emitting diode (16) in the direction of the screen (12). The invention also relates to a head-up display (100).

Provided is a display apparatus capable of having excellent yield. This display apparatus is provided with: a light source that outputs light for lighting a liquid crystal display element; an optical element (a first light collecting lens (51) or the like) that is disposed on an optical axis of the light source, said optical element being disposed between the light source and the liquid crystal display element; and a case body (80) that houses the optical element. The case body (80) has: an upper opening (81) opened toward the Z axis direction; a bottom section (83) that is positioned on the opposite side to the upper opening (81) in the Z axis direction; and a groove section (a groove section (841) or the like), which is positioned between the upper opening (81) and the bottom section (83), extends in the Z axis direction, and is recessed in the X axis direction. The optical element has a protruding section (a flange section (51b) or the like) that protrudes in the X axis direction, and is housed in the case body (80) in a state wherein the optical element is standing in the Z axis direction by having the protruding section caught in the groove section.

The invention relates to a device for outputting visual information in a motor vehicle, comprising a lighting device (1) which is provided for arrangement in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and has one or more light sources (5) for generating light (L) and a disc (3) which bounds the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and has an inner face (301) directed towards the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and an outer face (302) directed towards the outside of the motor vehicle. A symbol (9), which has a structure for scattering light at least into the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, is formed on the disc (3), wherein the lighting device (1) and the symbol (9) are arranged with respect to one another in such a way that the light (L) of the lighting device (1) is incident on the symbol (9) during the operation of said lighting device (1), said light at least partially originating from the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and passing via the inner face (301) of the disc (3), which symbol (9) lights up owing to the scattering of light on its structure.
