Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for solubilizing a fluoropolymer, comprising a solvent blend of a) compound of formula (I) R1—C(═O)—NR2R3 wherein R1 and R2 and R3 are defined as in the specification and b) dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The invention also relates to the process for the preparation of the composition and its uses. The invention is also the use of the fluoropolymer composition for coating applications.
Abstract:
A composition that includes a blend of a pressure sensitive adhesive and an ultraviolet light-absorbing oligomer. The oligomer has a first divalent unit having a pendent ultraviolet absorbing group and a second divalent unit represented by formula in which R1 is hydrogen or methyl, and R2 is alkyl having from 4 to 20 carbon atom. Articles including the composition are disclosed. For example, an assembly including a barrier film and the composition is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A production method of polyvinylidene fluoride resin particles comprising: (Process a1) a process to precipitate the polyvinylidene fluoride resin particles by adding a 100 mass% solution in total consisting of 75 to 99 mass% organic solvent, 1 to 25 mass% water and 0.5 to 15 mass% polyvinylidene fluoride resin to a poor solvent of the polyvinylidene fluoride resin; or (Process a2) a process to precipitate polyvinylidene fluoride resin particles by performing a flash-crystallization of the solution. With such a configuration, PVDF resin particles can be industrially produced by simple operations without using surfactant agent.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process for producing vinylidene fluoride polymer powder that exhibits excellent solubility with respect to aprotic polar solvents, and a process for producing a vinylidene fluoride polymer solution using vinylidene fluoride polymer powder obtained by the polymer powder production process. The process for producing heat-treated vinylidene fluoride polymer powder according to the invention includes heat treating raw vinylidene fluoride polymer powder at such a temperature that the temperature of the polymer powder is not less than 125°C to less than the crystal melting temperature (Tm) of the polymer.
Abstract:
A virus removal membrane 10 for removing viruses from a protein-containing solution, the virus removal membrane 10 including a primary surface 1 to which the protein-containing solution is applied, and a secondary surface 2 from which a liquid that permeates through the virus removal membrane 10 is flowed, wherein the virus removal membrane is formed from a hydrophilized synthetic polymer, in which, when a solution containing gold colloids having a diameter of 20 nm is applied through the primary surface to the virus removal membrane to allow the virus removal membrane 10 to capture the gold colloids for measurement of brightness in a cross section of the virus removal membrane 10, a value obtained by dividing a standard deviation of a value of an area of a spectrum of variation in the brightness by an average of the value of the area is 0.01 or more and 1.5 or less; and a thickness of a portion, where gold colloids having a diameter of 20 nm or more and 30 nm or less are captured, in the cross section of the virus removal membrane 10 in a wet state is 10 µm or more and 30 µm or less.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fluorinated film possessing properties making it able to be used outside, especially in the agricultural field as a greenhouse film for animals. The film according to the invention is a monolayer polymer film comprising a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) matrix, at least one impact modifier, the content by weight of the impact modifier varying between 2.5% and less than 40%, and a flame-retarding agent. According to one variant embodiment, the invention relates to a multilayer film comprising at least one layer of said fluorinated film and at least one unmodified PVDF layer.
