Abstract:
Lubricating compositions including crystalline boric acid and a base lubricant selected from oils, greases and the like. The lubricity of conventional oils and greases can also be improved by adding concentrates of boric acid.
Abstract:
Massaging toilet bar compositions are described that contain disintegrable agglomerates that provide simultaneous exfoliation and massaging to the skin and hair. Agglomerates are made by treating them with hydrophilic liquids, hydrophobic liquids, or a combination thereof. This treatment makes the agglomerate softer but not so soft as to make it break apart during the manufacture of the bars.
Abstract:
A rheologically controlled glass lubricant for hot metal working comprises a glass powder, a binder, a rheological agent, and a weetting and viscosity modifier. These materials may be dispersed in a carrier. The lubricant is made by mixing the constituent elements, milling the mixture, and stabilizing the milled mixture. The lubricant can be used in a forging operation by coating a metal part with the lubricant, heating the coated part, placing the coated heated part in a forge, and rapidly applying sufficient pressure to deform the coated metal part into a desired shape.
Abstract:
Compositions of high lubrication and light coloration are disclosed in which a selected class of resins and rubbers is blended with a specified cured polybutadiene product. The cured product results from crosslinking more than 10% of vinyl bonds in a butadiene polymer having a vinyl bond content of not less 20% by mol in terms of its monomer unit. Also diclosed are solid lubricants comprising a specified fluorinated cured polybutadiene and compositions containing the solid lubricant.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a lubricating composition comprising 5 to 65% by weight of a solid lubricant powder material, 5 to 20% by weight of a lubricating oil which is in a liquid or paste form at an ordinary temperature, 1 to 8% by weight of a carrier for absorbing and possessing said lubricating oil, 10 to 30% by weight of a thermoplastic resin, and 25 to 50% by weight of a thermosetting synthetic resin, and a sliding member comprising a metal substrate and a solid lubricant composed of the lubricating composition.

Abstract:
The invention provides an immersion oil composition for microscope especially suitable for use in the microscopic study using a fluorescence microscope by virtue of the greatly decreased fluorescence emission under ultraviolet irradiation in comparison with conventional immersion oils. The inventive immersion oil composition comprises a liquid dienic polymer, e.g. liquid polybutadiene, as a first component and, as a second component, one or a combination of compounds including (a) chlorinated paraffins, (b) polybutene, (c) carboxylic acid esters, (d) liquid paraffins, (e) saturated aliphatic alcohols and (f) alicyclic alcohols; said composition having a refractive index in the from 1.501 to 1.519 and a Abbe's number in the range from 40 to 46.
