Abstract:
Antimicrobial compositions and methods are disclosed. The antimicrobial compositions are particularly useful in providing antimicrobial capability to a wide-range of medical devices. In one aspect, the invention relates to a mild solvent coating using acrylate-type mild solution coating. These compositions include rheological modifiers as necessary. The compositions also include antimicrobial agents, which may be selected from a wide array of agents. Representative antimicrobial agents include cetyl pyridium chloride, cetrimide, alexidine, chlorexidine diacetate, benzalkonium chloride, and o-phthalaldehyde. Additionally, the compositions comprise one or more suitable mild solvents, such as a low molecular weight alcohol, alkane, ketone, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a grease composition for a precision instrument comprising a lithium soap grease or a urea grease, and an anti-wear agent, wherein the lithium soap grease and the urea grease are each a grease having no hydroxyl group in a molecule, and the anti-wear agent is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 20% by weight based on the total amount of the grease composition. By the use of the grease composition for a sliding mechanism of a precision instrument such as a watch, an appropriate slip torque can be obtained, and the precision instrument such as a watch can operate stably.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a threaded portion of a tubular element for a threaded tubular connection hiving an axis of revolution, the portion comprising a threading extending over its outer or inner peripheral surface, and a first sealing surface on the peripheral surface, the first sealing surface being capable of producing metal-metal interference with a corresponding second sealing surface belonging to a complementary threaded portion of a tube. The threading and the first sealing surface are coated with a metallic anti-corrosion and anti-galling layer wherein zinc (Zn) is tie major element by weight.
Abstract:
A refractory formulation containing an anhydrous solvent, an oleophilic rheology modifier and a refractory aggregate exhibits non-thermoplastic behavior, and remains plastic and formable at temperatures in the range of 10 degrees Celsius to 180 degrees Celsius. The oleophilic rheology modifier may effectively bind with the solvent to create a gel-like structure with organic solvents with moderate to high polarity. A phyllosilicate clay that has been treated with a quaternary fatty acid amine may be used as the oleophilic rheology modifier.
Abstract:
Defoaming agents comprising a silicone oil and silica particulates, lubricating oil compositions comprising the defoaming agent, methods of lubrication using a lubricating oil composition comprising the defoaming agent, and methods of reducing the foaming tendency/stability and/or improving the air release rates of non-aqueous fluids, such as lubricant oils, are provided.

Abstract:
A fluoropolymer coating composition comprises: fluorinated homopolymer particles dispersed in water, fluorinated copolymer particles dispersed in water, non-fluorinated polymer particles dispersed in water; and at least one aziridine compound comprising at least two aziridine groups. The composition is especially useful in low friction coating for telecommunication cables.
