Abstract:
A lubricating oil composition which exhibits improved fuel economy and fuel economy retention which contains the combination of an overbased oil soluble calcium detergent additive and an oil soluble trinuclear friction modifying molybdenum compound, the two components functioning to provide an improvement in the friction reducing properties of the composition.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a spindle device that supplies a prescribed amount of a lubricant agent intermittently or continuously from a lubricant supply device (3) to a rolling bearing (2) via a supply pipe (4), wherein the lubricant includes a lubricating oil and wax and, when a liquefaction point, which is a prescribed temperature within a temperature range of 10-70 °C, is used as a boundary, assumes a liquid state when the liquefaction point is exceeded and assumes a semisolid state when at or below the liquefaction point, and the lubricant is transported from the lubricant supply device (3) in a semisolid state via the supply pipe (3), and is changed to a liquid state before the rolling bearing (2) and caused to flow into the bearing interior.

Abstract:
There is disclosed lubricant additives that comprise a combination of vegetable oil as a triglyceride or a wax ester, sulfurized triglyceride vegetable oil or sulfurized wax ester of vegetable oil, and phosphite adducts of triglyceride vegetable oil, wax ester of vegetable oil or jojoba oil. There is also disclosed a process for sulfurizing triglyceride vegetable oil that is soluble in a lubricant base, such as mineral oil.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for making a compatibilizer for a concentrated viscosity index improving polymer blend, which comprises polymerizing a mixture of (meth)acrylate monomers in the presence of a polyolefin polymer. The present invention also provides a concentrated blend of viscosity index improving polymers comprising a non-nitrogenous dispersant poly(meth)acrylate copolymer, a polyolefin copolymer, the compatibilizer and an oil-soluble diluent.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a group of lubricant additives that have improved oxidative stability, high viscosity and relatively lower cost and that comprise telomerized vegetable oils having no more than 4 % polyunsaturated fatty acids. There is also disclosed sulfurized and phosphite adduct derivatives of telomerized vegetable oil for use as lubricant additives.
Abstract:
A friction modifier composition is disclosed that comprises an oil of lubricating viscosity and containing a friction-reducing amount of an additive comprising;
(A) at least one natural oil comprising an animal oil or vegetable oil comprising a triglyceride of the formula or (A') a diglyceride of the formula wherein R¹, R² and R³ are independently saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbyl groups containing from about 8 to about 24 carbon atoms and (B) at least one metal overbased composition.
