摘要: A method is provided for analyzing a sample using capillary electrophoresis. According to the method, an electrophoretic liquid filling step is performed for filling a capillary tube with an electrophoretic liquid. In an introducing step, a predetermined amount of sample is introduced to an introducing tank linked to the capillary tube. In a flow step, performed after the introducing step, the sample is caused to flow in the introducing tank, thereby generating a shear flow at a link portion between the capillary tube and the introducing tank. In an electrophoresis step, electrophoresis is performed in the capillary tube while the sample is continuously supplied.

摘要: The present invention provides a chip for analysis of a target substance that is compact and allows analysis of a target substance with less time and effort. The chip for analysis of a target substance includes a first flexible substrate 1, a second flexible substrate 2, and a third substrate 3. A flow channel-forming non-bonded area 11 is formed on a bonding surface of the first flexible substrate 1 and the second flexible substrate 2 in a band-like manner and an extraction chamber-forming non-bonded area 5 having a wider band width than the flow channel-forming non-bonded area 11 is formed at a part of the flow channel-forming non-bonded area 11. The first flexible substrate 1 includes a through-hole 7 that is in contact with the flow channel-forming non-bonded area 11, a shutter-forming non-bonded area 12b is formed on a bonding surface of the second flexible substrate 2 and the third substrate 3 at a far side of the through-hole 7 relative to the extraction chamber-forming non-bonded area 5 such that the shutter-forming non-bonded area 12b and the flow channel-forming non-bonded area 11 intersect above and below, the first flexible substrate 1 and the second flexible substrate 2 include a pressure supply port 18b that comes through the substrates so as to be in contact with the shutter-forming non-bonded area 12b, and a magnetic particle 16 that binds to a target substance is placed above the extraction chamber-forming non-bonded area 5.

摘要: A slide holder assembly (114) and method for use in high content screening of a comet assay. The slide holder assembly has an inside surface (164) and is configured to receive a slide (116) holding a plurality of biological cells on a top surface (117) thereof. When the slide is secured within the slide holder assembly, the inside surface of the slide holder assembly and the top surface of the slide combine to form a cavity having an open top end. The cavity is watertight and configured to hold a liquid therein. A method of performing a comet assay using a slide (116) disposed within a slide holder assembly (114). The method includes performing encapsulation, lysis, electrophoresis, staining, and imaging of cells on the slide while the slide remains secured within the slide holder assembly.

摘要: A liquid droplet manipulation instrument (20) comprises at least one electrode array (21) for inducing a movement of a liquid droplet (19) by electrowetting; a substrate (22) supporting the at least one electrode array (21); and a control unit (23) comprising at least one electrode selector (34) connected with at least one voltage control (29). The at least one electrode selector (34) is accomplished to individually select each electrode (35) of the at least one electrode array (21) and to provide the selected electrode (35) with a voltage controlled by the voltage control (29). The control unit (23) further comprises a central processing unit (36) for controlling the electrode selector (34) and the voltage control (29) to individually select at least one electrode (35) and to provide the at least one selected electrode (35) with an individual voltage pulse which is selected from a group comprising a ground voltage, a stop voltage, and a drive voltage. The control unit (23) is capable to define a path for a guided movement of a liquid portion of a larger volume that covers more than one electrode (35') of one electrode array (21) by the essentially simultaneous selection of a group of two or more subsequent drive electrodes (35') of said electrode array (21) and to provide each one of these selected drive electrodes (35') with a drive voltage pulse along said path. The control unit (23) is accomplished to essentially simultaneously provide a group of two or more electrodes (35) adjacent to the pulsed drive electrodes (35') and different to the selected drive electrodes (35') of the path with a ground voltage pulse.
