A video image display system (1) includes a projector (202) that generates a display image; and a screen (203) on which the image generated by the projector (202) is projected and displayed. On a backside of the screen (203), there is provided an infrared ray emitting unit (204) that emits infrared light from a video image display surface during a period while video images are being displayed on the screen (203). The infrared ray emitting unit (204) includes a wavelength cut filter that substantially does not transmit a predetermined wavelength component close to a visible light region, among the light emitted from the infrared light source.

    摘要: A multimedia player for providing two projection images is provided. The multimedia player for displaying two projection images includes: a first projection unit displaying a first projection image; and a second projection unit displaying a second projection image. The first projection unit includes: a first driving unit controlling an operation of the first projection unit and providing an image signal on the first projection image to be displayed; a first light source unit; a first light modulation device outputting the first projection image by modulating light provided from the light source in response to the image signal of the first projection image; and a first projection lens unit magnifying and projecting an image that is output from the first light modulation device. The structure of the first projection unit is the same as that of the second projection unit. The multimedia player further includes a screen sensing unit sensing a color of an area in which an image is to be displayed. The first and second driving units detect a complementary color of a color sensed by the screen sensing unit and increase brightness of a light source corresponding to the complementary color among light sources of the first and second light source units or image data corresponding to the complementary color among image data to be displayed, thereby improving visibility.

    摘要: A light modulator has two deformable dielectric layers (4, 5) which meet at an interface, at least one of which (5) is a relief forming gel, a first electrode (6) on one side of the layers and a signal electrode (3) on the other side of the layers to which voltage pulses are to be applied in accordance with desired signals. The signals are such that a relief is created with a profile such that the modulator will act as a lens (Fig. 18). The electrodes may be arranged a concentric circles (42), whose radial extent may reduce from the centre outwards. The radius of curvature of the profile may be varied to alter the focal length. The gel may be a polyorganosiloxane gel. There are also disclosed methods of making the gel, modulators, and optical systems using the modulators for both monochrome and three colour work.
