It is proposed to establish on the basis of at least one temporary balise group a section of track that is made the responsibility of a person on site, for example a construction manager. If a rail vehicle travels over the balise group without a valid entry acknowledgement, automatic braking takes place. The entry acknowledgement is given in consultation with the person responsible, and so the rail vehicle can only enter the section of track with the approval of that person. It is of advantage here that the temporary balise groups together with the responsible person on site provide a section of track that can be flexibly used, for example by construction vehicles or other rail vehicles.

The invention relates to a system for controlling, securing and/or monitoring travel paths of track-bound vehicles (100), with a centralised control device (10), a decentralised control device (20) assigned to a track-side signalling device (30) used for displaying and/or transmitting a driving command related to a route section, and with at least one additional decentralised control device (41, 42, 43) assigned to at least one track-side functional element (51, 52, 53, 55, 56) used for securing the respective route section, wherein the decentralised control device (20) and the at least one additional decentralised control device (41, 42, 43) are connected by communications technology to the central control unit (10) by means of at least one first communications link (70-76). In the interest of providing a capable and simultaneously particularly flexible system with regard to the realisation and usage possibilities thereof, the decentralised control device (20) is connected according to the invention by communications technology to the at least one additional decentralised control device (40, 41, 42) by means of at least one second communications link (80, 81, 82), and the system is designed to monitor the at least one second communications link (80, 81, 82) in regard to not exceeding the maximum delay time for security purposes.
