摘要: A vehicle drive device is disclosed that includes a rotating electrical machine, a transmission mechanism, an inverter device, a case including a first case portion that houses the rotating electrical machine, and a rotor shaft to which a rotor is fixed. The rotating electrical machine and a pair of output members have a two-axis configuration. The transmission mechanism includes, coaxially with the pair of output members, an output gear drivingly connected to at least one of the pair of output members. The output gear is disposed so as to overlap each of the rotating electrical machine and the inverter device as viewed in an axial direction. The inverter device is disposed so as to overlap a first output member that is one of the pair of output members, as viewed in an up-down direction. The first output member is disposed so as to overlap an axis of the rotor shaft as viewed in a horizontal direction, and the inverter device is disposed below an uppermost position of the first case portion in a second direction.

The speed change mechanism includes a first planetary gear mechanism, a second planetary gear mechanism, and a one-way clutch that limits a rotation direction of a first carrier of the first planetary gear mechanism to a certain forward rotation direction. When rotating the first motor in a backward rotation direction opposite to the certain forward rotation direction and rotating the second motor in the forward rotation direction, the controller determines rotation speeds of the first motor and the second motor within a range indicated by Expression (1).

摘要: The invention relates to a vehicle drive system. There is a need for a brake responsive vehicle drive system. A vehicle drive system includes an internal combustion engine (12), an electric motor/generator (14) driven by the engine (12), and drive wheels (26,30) driven by traction motor/generators (24,28). The motor/generators (24,28) are controlled by a controller (40) which receives signals from an operator speed control member (36), wheel speed sensors (46,48), and a pair of brake pedal position sensors (58,60), each connected to a corresponding left or right brake pedal (57,59). In response to operation of the brake pedals (57,59), the controller (40) coordinates operation of the electric drive system with operation of the brake pedals (57,59).
