PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFL film or an adhesive dip coating layer containing a carbon nanotube, and a yarn coated or impregnated with the coating. SOLUTION: A method for producing the RFL film or adhesive dip coating layer comprises the steps of: (a) preparing an RFL composition; (b) preparing a dispersion of a carbon nanotube; (c) charging the dispersion of a carbon nanotube into the RFL composition followed by mixing to obtain a suspension; and (d) coating, impregnating, or depositing the suspension on a yarn. The nanotube has a single wall or a plurality of walls and has an average diameter of 1-100 nm. The carbon nanotube has a solid content of 0.5-10 wt%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
The invention relates to the treatment of yarns for use in reinforcement of rubber products. Such treatment comprises application to the yarn of an aqueous emulsion of polyester and/or epoxy adhesive, or an aqueous alkaline dispersion of rubber latex and resorcinol-formaldehyde resin adhesive, wherein said adhesive contains a minor amount of particulate, water insoluble starch composite of starch and water insoluble plasticizer therefor. Such yarns may be in a form of a cord comprised of a plurality of yarns. The invention further relates to such treated yarns. The invention additionally relates to such treated yarns and a composite of rubber and said treated yarns. The invention additionally relates to an article of manufacture such, as for example, a rubber tire, having at least one component comprised of said composite.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of achieving satisfactory riding comfortableness and excellent stability in steering simultaneously. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire 1 has a carcass 6, a belt layer 7, a band layer 9, and tread rubber 2G arranged on an outer side of the band layer 9. The band layer 9 is formed by arranging a crown band ply 9C arranged in a central part of the belt layer 7 and provided with a low modulus cord 9Y1 and a shoulder band ply 9S provided with a high modulus cord 9Y2 in parallel in the direction of width. The tread rubber 2G is formed by arranging a crown rubber part 2C formed by a hard rubber material and a shoulder rubber part 2S formed by a soft rubber material in parallel in the direction of width. The hard crown rubber part 2C and the soft shoulder rubber part 2S are arranged on an outer side in the radial direction of the tire of the crown band ply 9C and an outer side in the radial direction of the tire of the shoulder band ply 9S, respectively. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic safety tire suppressing the buckling deformation of a tread portion without changing manufacturing steps and deteriorating riding comfort during normal inner pressure traveling, and improving run flat performance. SOLUTION: On a carcass layer inner peripheral surface of a side wall, the pneumatic safety tire is provided with a reinforcing rubber layer sharing and supporting a load and having a generally crescent cross section. A fiber cord structuring a belt reinforcing layer is 1,000 to 7,000 dtex in total fineness, includes at least 50 mass% of polyketone fibers, and is 0.1 to 1.8cN/dtex in the maximum thermal shrinkage stress. Abstract:
A reinforcing fabric (10) comprises reinforcing warp cords (12) and weft cords (14) that melt at a temperature of 93 DEG C (200 DEG F) to 149 DEG C (300 DEG F). The weft cords (14) hold the warp cords (12) in position relative to one another when the fabric is being calendered and placed in an elastomeric composite, but melt at the normal curing temperature of an elastomer (22) to form domains (17) of polymer in the cured composite. The reinforcing fabric (10) has particular use as reinforcement in V-belts.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of enhancing the steering stability and reducing the weight while maintaining the traveling durability equal to or more than that of a conventional tire using a PET by using poly-ketone fiber having the characteristics of high strength and high modulus of elasticity. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire having at least one carcass layer and a belt layer on the outer circumferential side of the carcass layer, a twist cord consisting of ketone fiber which is expressed by the chemical formula (a) -(CH 2 -CH 2 -CO)n-(R-CO-)m- while the thermal contraction stress at the dry heat 150°C is ≥0.19 cN/detex is used for a cord forming the carcass layer. In the formula (a), n and m satisfy inequalities (b) 1.05≥(n+m)/n≥1.00, and R denotes an alkylene group with the carbon number being ≥3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
