Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure good combustion while reducing pumping loss in a 4-cycle internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust valves 7 and 8 are opened until the middle period of an intake stroke, and an exhaust gas is made to flow backward into a combustion chamber 4 in the first half of the intake stroke. One side exhaust passage 10 is extended in a tangent line to the peripheral wall surface of the combustion chamber 4, an exhaust control valve 22 is provided in the other side exhaust passage 9, and the exhaust control valve 22 is closed at the time of a low load or an engine low-temperature. Closing the exhaust control valve 22 causes turning a back flow exhaust gas around a cylinder shaft line in the combustion chamber 4, gathering an exhaust gas Y on a piston 2 top face in the latter half of an intake stroke, and gathering an air-fuel mixture Z on the upper part of the combustion chamber 4. The exhaust control valve 22 is fully opened at the time of a high load or of a high load in an engine high- temperature. At that time, much exhaust gas flows reversely, and this reduces pumping loss.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the fuel injection time by installing the first fuel injection valve which directly jets fuel into a cylinder and the second fuel injection valve which jets fuel into an air feeding passage and jetting fuel from the both fuel injection valves when the fuel injection quantity exceeds a prescribed fuel injection quantity. CONSTITUTION:As for a two-cycle internal combustion engine having an air feeding port 9 and an exhaust port 10 on a cylinder head 10, an inside cylinder fuel injection valve 17 is installed onto the peripheral part of the inner wall surface part 3a of the cylinder head below an air feeding valve 5 for opening/ closing the air feeding port 9 so that a nozzle port 18 is set close to a combustion chamber 4. Further, the rod-shaped fuel having a small spread angle is jetted into the air feeding port 9, and a port injection valve 20, which forms fine particulate fuel through the collision with the bevel part of the air feeding valve 5, onto the air feeding port 9. When the fuel injection quantity is less than a previously determined fuel injection quantity, fuel is jetted from the inside cylinder fuel injection valve 17, while it the fuel injection quantity exceeds a previously determined fuel injection quantity, fuel is jetted from both the fuel injection valves 17 and 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ignite and burn a mixture immediately after an engine is started by repeating the cycle in which fuel is fed but not ignited and the cycle in which fuel is fed and ignited for predetermined cycles when the engine is operated with a low load. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is operated with a low load, first the fuel and compressed air are injected through an air blast valve 30 and a fuel injection valve 36, then the ignition by an ignition plug 10 is stopped, the mixture is once compressed in a cylinder 1, it is strongly mixed with the high- temperature remaining burnt gas, gasification is accelerated by the temperature rise due to a compression action, the time before ignition is extended, thus the mixture is set to the state to be easily ignited and burned. The fuel and compressed air are again injected through the air blast valve 30 and fuel injection valve 36 in the next cycle and ignited by the ignition plug 10. The mixture can be ignited and burned immediately after the engine is started even when the engine is operated with a low load.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower the position of the whole of new air inside a combustion chamber, so that strong loop scavenging may be ensured so as to improve a scavenging effect, by forming a new air guide wall on the inner wall surface of an air feed port outlet provided on the exhaust valve side, and extending the top end edge and the top end region of the guide wall in the respective specific directions. CONSTITUTION:A projection part 20 extending from the inner wall surface of an air feed port outlet part 8a provided on an exhaust valve 7 side toward an air feed valve stem 6a is formed integratedly on the inner wall surface. The top edge 21 of the projection part 20 extends along the diameter of the air feed port outlet part 8a in the right direction in relation to a line for joining an air feed valve 6 provided in vicinity of the exhaust valve 7 to the exhaust valve 7. Further, the upper wall surface 24 of the projection part 20, namely, a new air guide wall extends diagonally in relation to the axial line of the air feed valve stem 6a from the inner wall surface of the air feed port outlet part 8a toward the top edge 21 of the projection part 20. In addition, the new air guide wall 24 is formed nearly in a plate shape and extended toward the opening of the air feed valve 6 provided on the opposite side to the exhaust valve 7. Thereby, the whole of new air A and B is lowered inside a combustion chamber 4 so as to generate strong loop scavenging C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the output of an engine by closing an opening between the peripheral edge of an intake valve located at the exhaust valve side and a valve seat with a mask wall extending toward a combustion chamber from the inner wall surface of a cylinder over the whole period of opening the intake valve. CONSTITUTION:A mask wall 8a is provided which extends from the inner wall surface 3a of a cylinder toward a combustion chamber. The mask wall 8a is provided on one and the other sides respectively with a pair of intake valves 6 and a pair of exhaust valves 7. An opening between the peripheral edge of intake valve 6 located on the exhaust valve 7 side and a valve seat 9 is closed over the whole period of opening the intake valve 6. Thus, new charge is guided to descend along the inner wall surface of cylinder so that satisfactory loop scavenging can be ensured to improve the output of engine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the combustivity by specifying the valve timing, as well as furnishing a means to make a part of the exhaust gas reflow in to a combustion chamber while swirling around the cylinder shaft, in an engine in which suction valves and exhaust valves are arranged at a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:When a six-cylinder engine is used, two suction valves 24 and two exhaust valves 26 are furnished at a cylinder head 14 of each cylinder respectively. One of two exhaust ports 22 is formed in almost a straight line to the branch pipe 50a of an exhaust maniford 50, opened in the tangent direction at a combustion chamber 18, while the other exhaust port 22 is formed making an angle. And when the exhaust gas is released and a part of it is made reflow in to the combustion chamber 18, it reflows in through the exhaust port 22 formed almost in a straight line by the effect of inertia, and a swirl S can be formed in the combustion chamber 18. Further more, the valve timing is set to open the exhaust valves 26 of the other cylinder, in the period from the closing of the suction valves 24 to the closing of the exhaust valves 26 of one cylinder.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out favorable combustion over all load zones by making part of exhaust gas re-enter a combustion chamber while swirling around a cylinder axis and forming a squash area in between a cylinder wall face and the top of a piston. CONSTITUTION:New air ports 20 and exhaust ports 22 are oppositely provided on a cylinder head 14 and new air valves 24 and exhaust valves 26 are provided to these ports respectively. In this case, the exhaust port 22 on which one Es of the exhaust valves 26 is provided is formed at a right angle to the longitudi nal axis of an engine so as to form a straight line with the branch pipe 50a of an exhaust manifold while being opened in the tangential direction with respect to a combustion chamber 18. Thereby, a swirl S is formed around a cylinder axis by a re-entered exhaust gas. On the other hand, squash areas 58a are formed in between the inner wall of the cylinder head 14, i.e., the upper wall of the combustion chamber and a piston. Thereby, stratification can be properly disturbed while properly mixing a small quantity of remaining exhaust gas with new air.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stratify fresh air and exhaust gas, so as to improve the ignitionability, by setting an exhaust system adapted to control the pressure fluctuation of back pressure of an exhaust port in light load range of an engine, and setting a driving mechanism or others, adapted to open an exhaust valve earlier than one of intake valves, and close this exhaust valve later than the other suction valve. CONSTITUTION:In light load range of an engine, an intake air control valve 16 is closed, and on the other hand, an exhaust gas control valve 34 is opened. Then, exhaust valves 31a, 31b are opened according to the descendent motion of a piston 3, to blow the exhaust gas toward exhaust ports 32a, 32b, respectively, and this exhaust gas is blown back to a combustion chamber 2. At this time, a swirl of exhaust gas is formed by the eccentric port 32b and a mask 5. On the other hand, fresh air passed through a throttle valve 13 and a supercharger 14, is led slowly into the combustion chamber 2 through the first suction valve 21a which opens later than the second intake valve 21b, and gathered near a sparking plug 4 on the cylinder head 6 side. In this way, the fresh air on the cylinder head 6 side and the exhaust gas on the piston 3 side, are stratified, and consequently, the ignitionability is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the ignitability by providing a valve for controlling an exhaust system to generate supercharging effect produced by an exhaust pulse between cylinders, a driving mechanism for opening an exhaust valve earlier than an intake valve and a swirling means for the exhaust or the like, and thereby stratifying fresh air and the exhaust. CONSTITUTION:In the light loading range of an engine, an intake control valve 16 is closed, and an exhaust control valve 34 is opened. As each of exhaust valves 31a, 31b is opened during the downward stroke of a piston, high temperature exhaust blown down into each of exhaust ports 32a, 32b is flowed backward to a combustion chamber 2. At this time, an eccentric port 32b and a mask 5 generate an exhaust swirl. In addition to that, when the lifting quantity of an intake valve 21a has increased, the fresh air having passed through a throttle valve 13 and a supercharger 14 is introduced into the combustion chamber 2 from an inlet port 20a through the intake valve 21a. Therefore, the fresh air is slowly introduced on the exhaust swirl to be collected near an ignition plug 4 on the side of a cylinder head, and thereby the fresh air on said side and the exhaust on the side of the piston are stratified respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the promotion of lightweightness attainable as well as to improve productivity ever so high, by forming a plastic mode in advance, while casting a crankshaft bearing cap part by means of a full-mold foundry. CONSTITUTION:Each crankshaft bearing cap part is first formed with a plastic model 10. At this stage, each plastic model 10 is easily formable into complex form without any consideration of a die releasing direction. Therefore, this plastic model is easily formable into such a fog form as abstracting unnecessary thickness while keeping the strength required. This plastic model is replaced with a metal by means of a full-mold process so that the crankshaft bearing cap part 12 replaced with a substitution metal is unnecessary to consider a split mold in time of casting, thus productivity is raised so high and, what is more, it is formable into an optimum light weight structure. Since a horizontal beam 11 is also formed with a separate single part in advance, geometrical form machining is made performable, thereby constituting to improvements in the promotion of lightweightness and productivity.
