    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject compound useful for preventing the growth of marine life on a marine construction. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [R is a 3-10C alkynyl, etc.; A is CR =CR -X, etc.; D is N; R is H, a 1-3C alkyl, etc.; Q is a group of formula II (R is H, a 1-6C alkoxy, etc.), etc.; X is a halogen, an alkoxy, an alkylthio, etc.], such as 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(2'-pentyl)pyridazinone. A process for the production of the compound is disclosed in the European Patent 478,195 (Egan, et al). The compound is compounded in a carrier or a coating material in an amount of 0.1-30wt.% based on the object to be protected (boat, pier, fishing net, etc.) or on the coating material to be applied. In some case, a 2nd marine antifouling agent (manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate) is included in the agent. A marine antifouling agent having improved performance and scarcely giving adverse effect on the marine environment can be produced by this process.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aminoalkyne with reduced reaction time and improved selectivity of desired amine and yield by subjecting to a process transferring an alcohol to an organic chloride and a process transferring the organic chloride to a corresponding amine. SOLUTION: (A) An alkynyl alcohol is reacted with (B) HCl to form (C) a chloroalkyne. Then, the component C is reacted with (D) a water-soluble amination agent in the presence of (E) a surfactant (preferably nonioic) to form (F) an aminoalkyne. The component F is optionally purified by a distillation. For instance, 3-amino-3-methyl-1-pentyne can be formed by using 3-methyl-1- pentyn-3-ol as the component A. By the process, amines useful for successively synthesizing a bioactive substance, e.g. a biocide product, can be prepared.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the control of microorganisms which have gotten resistance to benzimidazole or thiophanate microbicidal agent by applying a new microbicidal agent containing a specific N-acetonylbenzamide. SOLUTION: A microbicidally effective amount of N-acetonylbenzamide of the formula (R3 -R5 are each H, carboxyl, a halo, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkoxy, a haloalkyl; R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl, a haloalkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl; X, Y, Z are each H, a halo, thiocyano, alkylsulfonyloxy) is applied in a form a microbicidal composition. This composition preferably comprises 1-90wt.% of N-acetonylbenzamide and 90-10wt.% of a carrier which is permissible in cultivation of field crops. In addition, a microbicidal agent selected from benzimidazole, thiophanate and dicarboxyimide may be added thereto. A compound of the formula is, for example, N-(1,1-dibromo-3-methylpentane-2- on-3-yl)-3,5-dichlorobenzamide.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound effective for controlling phytopathogenic fungi on crops and useful for seed-protecting agents, soil-sterilizing agents, etc. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I (A is N or C-R ; R1 , R2 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl, etc.; R3 , R4 , R5 are each H, a halogen, cyano, etc.; X, Y, Z are each a halogen, cyano, thiocyano, etc.), e.g. N-(3-chloro-1-ethyl-1-methyl-2- oxopropuyl)-4-aminobenzamide. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a substituted benzoic acid of formula II as a starting substance with about one equivalent of methane sulfonyl chloride in the presence of a base (e.g. TEA) in a solvent such as tetrahydrofuran at -20 deg.C, adding a compound of formula III and ethylamine to the reaction product, treating the obtained N-substituted benzamide of formula IV with a halogen in the solvent mixture of e.g. methyl chloride with hexane at -78 deg.C to -10 deg.C, and subsequently hydrolyzing the obtained intermediate oxazoline hydrochloride of formula V in a solvent such as methanol at a temperature of 40-60 deg.C under an acidic condition.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microbicidal composition which exerts high microbicidal activity with comparatively low toxicity to plants and is particularly useful for controlling fungi belonging to oomycetes by making the composition include a specific N-acetonylbenzamide and a selected second microbicidal active compound. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) a microbicidal effective amount of a first microbicidal active compound of the formula (R and R are each a halogen or a 1-4C alkyl; R is a 1-4C alkyl, a 2-4C alkenyl or the like; R and R are each H or a 1-4C alkyl, however, either one is a 1-4C alkyl: X is a halogen or the like) or its salt permissible on crop cultivation, (B) a microbicidal effective amount of a second microbicidal active compound selected from the group consisting of a respiratory inhibitor on cytochrome complex III, ziram, fluazinam or the like and (C) a carrier permissible on crop cultivation. For example, N-[3'-(1'-chloro-3'-methyl-2'-oxopentane)]-3,5-dichloro-4- methylbenzamide and phosphorous acid are used as the component A and the component B, respectively.
