Moreover, an oxidation type coenzyme Qand the licorice hydrophobic extract are made to coexist, thereby producing the reduction type coenzyme Q.

    SOLUTION: The antifreeze agent namely a substance inhibiting water from freezing derived from a plant is characterized by having a molecular weight measured by gel filtration of at least 400 kDa and being constituted of a plurality of subunits. There is disclosed a safe process of producing the antifreeze agent that has activity of inhibiting water from freezing effective enough for use in a practical application and can be used in food production.
