PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool having an improved protective cover.SOLUTION: A motor shaft 7 is arranged along an X-axis direction 5 and a Z-axis direction 4, and in a horizontal direction and in a vertical direction with respect to a body frame 2, and movably along a vertical slide 3. The Z-axis direction 4 is directed along a vertical front wall 6. The X-axis direction 5 is directed along the vertical slide 3. The motor shaft 7 can be moved from a working space 17 to the inside of a storage position 12 and the inside of an installation position 13. A protective cover can be moved in the vertical direction together with the vertical slide 3. Protective walls 18 each having a slide door 19 are arranged on both sides of the working space 17. The slide door can be moved from a closed position to an open position in the vertical direction with respect to an X-Z plane.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To desirably control a yawing angle of a Y-axis mobile unit, and to enhance running precision of an X-axis mobile unit. SOLUTION: An XY stage device 1 includes: an X-axis mobile unit 3 traveling in an X-axis direction on a surface plate 2; a Y-axis mobile unit 4 that travels in a Y-axis direction on the surface plate and guides traveling of the X-axis mobile unit 3 in an X-axis direction; shaft motors 14A, 14B for driving the Y-axis mobile unit 4 in a Y-axis direction; and linear scales 16A, 16B for detecting the yawing angle of the Y-axis mobile unit 4. In the XY stage 1, drive of the shaft motors 14A, 14B is controlled by a controller 17 based on the yawing angle, thus suitably controlling the shaft motors 14A, 14B each according to the yawing angle. Since one end in the direction of X axis of the Y-axis mobile unit 4 is supported by a rolling guide 11 and the other end in the direction of X axis of the Y-axis mobile unit 4 is supported by a lift air pad 12, the Y-axis mobile unit 4 is not restricted completely in the direction of X axis. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bevel gear cutting machine performing chamfering or deburring of different bevel gears in a short period of time. SOLUTION: A work spindle (30) for receiving/supporting the bevel gear (31) concentrically to a spindle shaft (32); a deburring spindle (55) for receiving/supporting a deburring tool; and a plurality of numerical control axes, are provided on the bevel gear cutting machine (20) for performing chamfering or deburring of an edge of a tooth of the bevel gear (31). Further, a deburring blade head (43) having a plurality of rod-like blade inserts (43.1) is provided as the deburring tool. The blade inserts (43.1) is freely mounted to the deburring blade head (43) and are radially arranged relative to a deburring spindle shaft (E) of the deburring spindle (55), and a chamfering or deburring edge is provided.
