【課題】グリセリン脱水反応用触媒、その製造方法およびアクロレインの製造方法に関し、副産物の生成を最少化してアクロレインの選択度を改善することができ、反応中の触媒活性を高く維持することができるグリセリン脱水反応用触媒を提供する。 【解決手段】化学式1:(Ma) p (Mb) q WA r O x で示される複合金属酸化物を含む、グリセリン脱水反応用触媒を提供する。さらに、リン前駆体および硫黄前駆体からなる群より選択された1つ以上とタングステン前駆体を混合する段階;および前記混合液を乾燥および焼成する段階;を含む、グリセリン脱水反応用触媒の製造方法を提供する。 【選択図】なし

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for epoxidizing olefins with an improved selectivity of olefin oxides, a method for preparing catalysts, and a method for preparing olefin oxides.SOLUTION: There is provided a catalyst for epoxidizing olefins comprising a carrier as well as silver, a rhenium promoter, a first co-promoter, and a second co-promoter that are deposited on the carrier, wherein a mole ratio of the first co-promoter to the second co-promoter is more than 1. The first co-promoter is selected from sulfur, phosphorus, boron, and mixtures thereof; and the second co-promoter is selected from tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, and mixtures thereof. A method for preparing the catalyst, and a method for preparing olefin oxides by reacting a feedstock including olefin and oxygen in the presence of catalysts are also provided. The present invention includes converting the olefin oxides into a 1,2-diol, a 1,2-diolether, a 1,2-carbonate, or an alkanolamine.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst and a photoelectrode having improved photocatalytic activity.SOLUTION: This photocatalyst includes: a first semiconductor layer 10; a second semiconductor 14 having an energy level of the lowest part of a conduction band at the energy level closer to the vacuum level than an energy level of the lowest part of a conduction band of the first semiconductor layer 10; and a sulfide 12. The sulfide 12 is in contact with both the first semiconductor layer 10 and the second semiconductor 14.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new not carried tungsten sulfide catalyst, provide its preparation method and also provide a hydrogenation method for an aromatic hydrocarbon and (or) a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: The not carried tungsten sulfide catalyst containing tungsten sulfide is formed by reduction decomposing an ammonium thiotungstate in an organic solvent, and in a hydrogenation process thereof, the above catalyst is used in a method of hydrogenating hydrocarbon containing an aromatic hydrocarbon and (or) a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon and forming a hydrocarbon low in the content of aromatic hydrocarbon and (or) a hydrocarbon low in the content of the condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon.
