    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a carbonyl compound which permits easy manufacture of the carbonyl compound.
    SOLUTION: The carbonyl compound is manufactured by reacting a thiocarbonyl compound with a molecular oxygen in a polar solvent in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of group 8 metals, group 9 metals, group 10 metals and group 11 metals in the periodic table. The carbonyl compound is also manufactured by reacting a selenocarbonyl compound with molecular oxygen in the presence of the above-mentioned catalyst in the polar solvent. The molecular oxygen acts as an oxidizing agent of the thiocarbonyl compound or the selenocarbonyl compound to effect the desulfurizing oxidation reaction or the deselenizing oxidation reaction.

SOLUTION: This method for recovering the useful substances from the waste plastics containing the polycarbonate resin as a main component, characterized by chemically decomposing the polycarbonate resin in the waster plastics in a solution comprising an organic solvent for decomposing the polycarbonate resin and a primary amine and then recovering bisphenol A and a urea derivative as useful chemical raw materials from the decomposition product.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lowly odorous catalyst composition having high activity and foam selectivity, by making the composition include a blowing agent, a cell stabilizer and N,N,N'-trimethylbis(aminoethyl)ether substituted urea. SOLUTION: The blowing agent is mixed with a cell stabilizer, a mixture of 50-95 wt.% 4,10-trimethyl-7-undecaneurea of formula I with 5-50 wt.% N,N'- bis-(4,10-diaza-4,10-diaza-4,10,10-trimethyl-7-oxaundecaneurea of formula II, a gelation catalyst and a blowing catalyst to obtain a catalyst composition. An organic polyisocyanate is reacted with a polyol in the presence of 0.01-10 phpp, desirably 0.05-0.5 phpp, per polyol in the polyurethane formulation, of the catalyst composition to obtain a flexible polyurethane foam having a density of 16-48 kg/m . The compounds of formulas I and II can be produced by reacting urea with 4,10-diaza-4,10,10-trimethyl-7-oxaundecaneamine.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To profitably produce an N-alkyl urea useful as a precursor for an alkylamine only by reacting a tertiary amine with urea in the presence of a strong acidic ion exchange resin catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A tertiary alcohol (e.g. t-butyl alcohol) is reacted with urea in the presence of a strong acidic ion exchange resin as a catalyst to produce an N-alkylurea (e.g. N-t-butylurea). The catalyst is preferably a perfluorosulfonic acid resin or a sulfonic acid resin which is produced by introducing sulfonic acid acid groups to styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. Before used as the catalyst, these resins are preferably treated with an acid to convert the ion type of the resin into the H type.
