    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element capable of emitting light with high efficiency, and stably drivable. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element includes an organic layer 20 between an anode 11 and a cathode 31. The organic layer 20 has a structure where an electron injection layer 21, an electron transport layer 22, a functional layer 23, a hole transport layer 24, a luminescent layer 25 and an electron transport layer 26 are laminated from the anode 11 side. The electron injection layer 21 contains an electron transport material. The functional layer 23 is formed by containing hexaazatriphenylene and the like. By including the electron transport layer 22 and the functional layer 23, holes can be efficiently and sufficiently injected into the luminescent layer 25 from the positive electrode 11 while suppressing expansion of current in the lateral direction when applying an electric field to the luminescent layer 25.
