    摘要: PURPOSE: An optical recording medium is provided to manufacture the optical recording medium having less deflection and being excellent in recording and reproducing properties by forming the light transmitting layer on the on the information signal area. CONSTITUTION: A light transmitting layer(2) is formed on a disc substrate. An information signal is recorded and reproduced on an information signal area, and the information signal area is formed on the main surface of the disc substrate. The light transmitting layer transmits a laser beam used during process for recording and/or reproducing the information signal. The light transmitting layer is formed on the surface of the information signal area. A clamp reference plane(3a) is arranged on a main surface of the light transmitting layer in a clamp region. If the optical disc is clamped by a chucking unit(20) of a drive, the clamp reference plane on the main surface of the light transmitting layer is contacted to a mounting surface of a table for mounting the disc. A magnetic metal plate is contacted on the main surface of the disc substrate, and the optical disc is inserted between the magnetic metal plate and the disk substrate.
